| I know that it varies, however I was wondering what some stallion owners offer as a discount for proven mares in general. Can anyone offer any examples? Thanks! |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I can lol. If you breed Martha to El Scorcho, it's free. Mulberry Canyon Moon is free too. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is free. Baby Flo....you guessed it, free.
Daughters of Dash Ta Fame, Frenchmans Guy are $150.
Barrel mares that have earned over $20,000 in any discipline or produced winners of over 20k are $250.
If you're my pal, $400 and a case of beer.
If you're not my pal $500 and a case of beer.
If you ask a lot of questions and/or degrade me, my stallion or my program it is $600 for me to keep quiet :)

Just depends.. Many times it's stated in their contract if they've won X amount they get so much cash off the stud fee.
You just have to jump on it. I've seen several stallions over the years waive stud fees for DTF, FWF, or FG mares. I finally saw one this year offer it to Stoli daughters but I already booked mine.
I've had some really pathetic discounts before.. for like $50 bucks. And I've been offered free stud fees for Bunny before. Just depends on who likes your mare and who doesn't. The same mare can get jack squat of a discount from one stallion owner, and practically a free one from another. |
