Psalm 39:1-5 I said, I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue;I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me. I was mute with silence , I held my peace even from good; and my sorrow was stirred up. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing , the fired burned. then I spoke with my tongue. " Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measures of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed , You have made my days as hand breaths and my age is as nothing before You.
In this psalm , the psalmist is dealing with the purpose of life. These verses remind us that our days are " hand breaths" or a couple of inches in the grander scheme of life. As he cries out for wisdom, he realizes that meaning is found in God. He then prays for forgiveness and reconciliation with God.
As we cry out to God, He will forgive us based on the cross. We need to humble enough to forgive ourselves.
Father, give us strength today, help us forgive ourselves as You have forgiven us. Guide our path today to do all things to bring glory and honor to You. AMEN
For it is with God all things are possible
