| For hard workouts/competitions I would cool out for 20 minutes or until breathing returned to normal and he's no longer sweating, whichever took the longest, cold water hose legs, wait for them to dry then liniment and standing wrap for 12 hours. I never kept him in a stall either, he had a good size pen to keep moving. I do this no matter how in or out of shape they are. Kept my horse running until he was in his mid 20's. |

When you wrap do you just put polos on or quilts/cotton roll and polos? |

| I have an OLD set of wraps that are cotton flannel, not the pillow wraps they make now. I use those and standing wraps. I am going to have to replace them and I can't find anything like them. |

| Yes I used Bigeoil but now I use Sore No More. And cold in my part of the world is 40 - 30 degrees. However for 2 winters in the 80's we had teens day and night for a couple weeks and then I just cooled them out longer and used liniment and wraps. |

Do not use anything by NO BOWS. I use cool pack also. It is critical that you wrap properly |

| I have never used it but I know a lot of girls used it. I also used green jelly stuff but a good number of girls on here said it messed their horses legs up so I use Sore No More now. |

And THERE IS A DIFFERENCE between polos and standing bandages. They are made of totally different fabrics. |

What brand of No-Bows do you use? I found some on amazon but they look sketchy. Do you prefer polos or standing bandages? |

Streakysox what do you use? I don't like the No Bows, but I was also told that the quilts were not any good either? This has been bugging me because my old wraps I put on under the standing wrap are just about to bite the dust. |

| I got my No Bows from Valley vet. I have two different widths 12's and 14's. Like the 12's better but I have big horses and need the 14's too.
Martha Josey has been a friend for MANY years and she has a person hired to wrap her horses legs. Pam, her leg person has been using Cool Pack Green Jelly for years. If it hurt the horse, I am sure she would have changed. Pam has worked for Martha for 20 years, wrapping legs. Martha has run a lot of horses over the years and they stay sound. My mare has some suspensory issues so I started doing what they do.
Standing wraps are NOT the same as polo wraps. Wrapped incorrectly, you can cause major problems. |

I misunderstood, I thought you meant you don't use no bows. I know who Martha is, I have been to one of her clinics. I was just letting the OP know that SOME BBs on here had bad experienced with cool green pack jelly although I never did. But like people, some horses are more sensitive to certain substances than others. |

Location: Where the long tails flow, ND | I use PHT religiously. I alternate between the tendon wraps and quick wraps. If I feel I like I need more leg support I use the tendon wraps with Saratoga or cotton track bandages.
I also love the sore no more bath brace |

I have done this pretty routinely. I don't wrap unless I'm trying to sweat something specifically. The OP was talking about after hard workouts - I only linement, massage, and cold hose if I feel the need ex: after a super hard, long workout or something happened during the session - tripping, smacking into a steer, running a cow down the wall and getting stepped on, etc.
Most horses will be just fine with a cold hosing and basic care. |

What brand of the track bandages do you use? I have been having a hard time finding ones that will hold up and last. |
