So we will be making a maiden voyage to South Point for the Stallion Stakes the end of March.  It seems  all-inclusive, but we are trying to go on a budget.  Is there any places to eat within walking distance?  Is it difficult to get your pickup out of parking for day drives, etc.  Any tips on how to "do South Point" on a budget?  The good, the bad, the ugly... Please!

They have a few restraunts right there in the casino, otherwise nothing real close. As far as parking, they are the best hotel for trucks. Easy to get in and out of and it was made more for truck parking. Don't really know how to make it cheap since you are in Vegas. I have only been during the NFR, but I imagine it close to the same. I know they have a trade show during the Stallion Stakes to do some shopping.

There is a fast food mexican food restaurant across the street. I think it's Taco Cabana. It's open 24 hours a day and very cheap. The food is good for the price. The restaurants in South Point aren't bad. We've had to wait during the NFR at the cafe due to so many eating, but the food and service were good. It wasn't expensive. I thought they opened a fast food burger place as well. We didn't make the finals last year, so I'm not 100% sure. Parking is very easy in and out. They have a nice parking garage or the front parking lot as well. We really enjoy the South Point. We plan to stay there this December as well.

Parking is good and easy.
There is a Steak N Shake inside the South Point. We usually drive down toward the strip and by the Outlet mall there is a strip of restaurants that we usually go to.

This is where we stay every year. I'm not a stay on the strip kind of person at all. Have fun!

There is an IHOP restaurant a few miles up the road from South Pointe we ate at while at the NFR. There is a Denny's attached to a motel a little further up the road from IHOP. IHOP was reasonable, fast and typical IHOP quality-ok.

You can do it on a budget ... ^^ Breakfast early at the cafe in the SP.  Lunch or supper at the mexican place across the street.  Within a mile or 2 there are several great restaurants in a strip mall for supper - We usually try to pack and bring our own snacks.   Parking is simple as others have said, it is the easiest place to get pickups and trailers in and out of.  There are also lots of restaurants in the SP, if you go look, they'll have daily specials that are usually really reasonable too.  You'll be several miles out and away from the main strip ... so be prepared to park and walk if you are going to check out the strip.
