would.1.cc help.a.horse? When ours had hives..vet gave 10cc's of the lower dose, 2 mg. For my scratchy horse he.gets 5cc of it a couple times a week in summer.

For the 2 mg you can give 10 cc, for the 4mg you give 5cc
Your calculations would be giving 20mg of dex?
I don't know the safe dosage of dex as my vet doesn't perscribe it, as it can cause laminitis if the horse has a predisposing disease such as cushings, or given too much, or if given joint injections with a steroid in the mixture

I didn't take it as her hasking how much dex is generally given because she didn't even list the species of animal. I took it to be how much volume of 2 mg/ml Dex or 4mg/ml dex to give the requested 2.5mg dose. So...it's pretty easy math there.

I may have misread the question wrong then. And the dosage I said above is what our vets down here give when needed based on the strength of the dex.
