Location: Texas | Anyone have any experience with this? I believe my one horse is displacing his soft pallet at the end of a run or maybe even during. He is nine this year and has always seemed to be kind of exercise intolerant. Seems like no matter how much I ride him and work on getting him in excellent condition he will still be huffing and puffing more than my other gelding. He sometimes makes a flutter noise in his throat when winded, like at the end of a run. I started using the WTP NP bit (winning tounge plate - no plate bit - http://www.iiwinders.com) on him and he stopped making the flutter noise. But he works better in the Perfect Bit so I ran him in it this past weekend and he worked great, but made the flutter noise again at the end of the run. He is a big horse and doesn't appear to be running very hard or putting out 100% during a run though. I am not sure if he is displacing during the run or only at the end when I hear the flutter noise. I did have him scoped at rest about six years ago when the issue first came up but there was nothing wrong. Not sure where I would have to go to have a scope done on a tread mill. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this. Thanks |
