| Anybody have an opinion on corriente saddles? My husband found where he can buy them brand new online for around $800. I'm wondering if they are just made cheap or if they are actually decent saddles |

Is it a roping saddle are barrel saddle? You can get a barrel saddle brand new from them for 550.00. They might have gone up a little bit but not 800.00 for a barrel saddle. |

| I don't know about the adult saddles, but the youth are decent. They're thick, quality leather I know. we use them for trophy saddles for some youth rodeos I am on the committee for. I don't know about their longevity, but they seem well made when we handle them. They are definitely a step above your junk saddles, but not as nice as my crates or circle y. |

I looked them up for you and you can get a roping saddle for 650.00 and thats with the shipping, barrel saddle 550.00 and thats with the shipping to, I have the owners phone number if you want it. |

Location: IM A DUDE!!!!!!! | I bought one back in 2001 brand new. It has been through hell and back. When I was breaking colts I had a couple flip over on it when they were first saddled, and it held up. I have left it out when it was raining and it never got moldy or anything. Even after all these years it still rides good and very confortble. It fits all the horses I have ever put it on. Great saddle for a great price. Even after having for so long, it still squeeks like its brand new lol |

| I have won a few of them, and they are really nice saddles for the money. Hold up pretty well and super comfortable to ride in. They don't fit an extremely wide horse well, but most others they do. I would prefer the sued seat, as the others are slicker than snot, especially if you have a fully tooled one like I do. Thank god they let me pick what seat I wanted. I have never had a roper, only the barrel saddles, but I wouldn't hesitate to get one of the ropers if I roped. Owners are super nice people, and very easy to work with. |

| Great saddles for the price and Wayne and the girls are great to work with. I've probably ordered and given away over 30 of them in the last several years at ropings. Most of the people that win these saddles, use them hard and love them. |

This! They are using saddles. My daughter had one custom made. It's an association - fits her and her horse great. She rodeo queens in it (state level across the country), ropes, checks cattle, rides in rain, snow, mud, even the pond more than once - that saddle has been through it and back more than once. It is still solid as the day she got it and looks great! It gets basic care in cleaning and oiling, but never anything extra. I cannot say enough good about the folks at Corriente. They tooled it EXACTLY the way she wanted, matched the breastcollar, then just did another breastcollar to show her new title. I can't vouch for their barrel saddles, but if they are anything like hers you won't be disappointed!
When we ordered her saddle a few years ago, it was supposed to make it for her coronation. They had an unprecedented snow storm - UPS couldn't get in to pick it up. He drove 3 hours in the snowstorm to get it to another town where it could make a freight truck. When I called in November to order her new breastcollar, they remembered her by name, how her saddle was tooled, had detailed records. Absolutely the easiest and most customer service oriented company I have ever worked with. For the money I don't think you can beat these saddles. |

Location: home for the winter...what a dumb idea | I have a wade for ranch work and trail riding. Super nice to ride in. Tough can rope a bull in it with no problems. I have noticed that over the years they have gone down in quality a bit...first saddle we got was in 06 was better made then my one I got last year. Not major things but the saddle strings on my new one were not through the skirts only put on with wood screws and I had one price of leather where the back cinch tied into the skirt that was thin. Some of the stitching came out as swell. |

Location: SE Oklahoma | I was on their website all day yesterday looking at saddles. Then came here and found this thread. haha I'm still using my ole trusty billy cook saddle I got 16 years ago. But its starting to fall apart and I don't trust it. My only other saddle is my trophy saddle thats an all around saddle and not that great for barrels. I'm wondering if you can customize them any? I LOVE their "cutting" saddle, wonder if they could make a barrel saddle in those colors/stitching. All their barrel saddles are really light leather and I like the darker colors. My friend has one of their saddles and I've rode in it a few times and I really liked it. |

Location: Missouri | For those of you asking about customization - my daughter COMPLETELY customized hers. Cantle height, tooling, seat color - I'm telling ya - they can do ANYTHING! And they are really good with suggestions - as in if you say "any suggestions"..they have them. Love working with Corriente! Granted hers is a roping saddle on an association tree, but they did everything to HER specs. |

Their stirrups are not forward hung, but they do let you put your legs where you want them. Not restricting at all. As for fitting a wider horse, not so much. I have a gelding who takes a ProMax tree in the Caldwell saddles, and the corrientes dont fit him at all. Not enough flare in the bars for him. But everything else they fit really well. Love them and they are comfortable. I mainly ride them when I'm working colts and such, they hold up really well, and keep the wear and tare off the competition saddles. |
