When I bought my horse last August I discovered he doesn't do well with bugs. Poor guy is a fly and mosquito magnet and breaks out in terrible hives. Not to mention his pink nose and blue eye. So this year I'm going to be ready for bug season. He'll need a mask, boots, sheet, and hood that is durable and comfortable to pretty much live in.

I'm partial to the Kensington sheets. Love the durability. Plus, if they rip, the customer service is fantastic!

I haven't found a fly sheet that will last more than a couple seasons, but I do like the Horseware Amigo one (comes with hood).

Boots hands down are the shoofly leggings.  They don't rub or fall down and stay put!

I don't have a favorite flymask, I think those are pretty equal.

I have two Rambo Protector fly sheets with the neck attachments.  Absoluetly love them. They are VERY durable.  But the one I have is too big so I am selling it to buy a smaller size.  It is a size 78", just back from being professionally cleaned and had the surcingle straps replaced.  PM me if interested.

I've never had to use anything other than a mask.  I buy the Cashel brand with ears and a nose flap

I bought boots from a gal in Iowa that are somewhat similar to shoofly. They were affordable and worked fairly well. She was awesome to do business with. I'd order from her again, but I would only keep them on a horse that's on a very short pasture or in a dry lot as mine lost them in the tall grass.

You might want to look into allergy testing.  My gelding is allergic to ants and some type of fly.  I'm going to start the allergy shots once I get them, but I think it will help him tremendously.

I know that gal! I bought a few pairs and they work amazingly, I can give you her contact info if you PM me! They are $50 for a four pack plus shipping, but they are the most durable boots I've ever owned and are easy to clean. They have lots of colors and sizes. They are designed to be the tightest around the pastern and Cone shaped so they fit loose and don't rub but no bugs go down in the "Cone" so they don't need to be tight. Love Mine!!
