Location: In Ky following Barrel Races & Walker hounds. | Dustin and I found out a couple of months ago our house was built in 1884! Ever since we have been researching like crazy. We have found out at least 2 people were born in it, we know the original lay out, went to the court house and hunted down original deeds, ect. Dustin went and talked to a lady in the town who grew up in the house, she told us when her parents were renovating in the 50s she found a little rolled up paper as they were knocking out a wall, it was a bank note for the bank of Philidelphia for $1000 dated 1878. With some digging we found out the man who built our home was actually the man who founded our itty bitty town. He owned a general store, a coal mine, a mill, and a ferry. We really believe the note belonged to him.
She began telling my husband how the big catalpa tree in our yard has always been rumored to have started as a fence post. I went out the other day and started looking, I found this about 10ft up.. I ran inside, grabbed my camera and zoom lense and took some pictures! :)

We are in the middle of remodeling, I can't wait to see what other little neat things we find out! |

Our house was built in 1900 and I have started to dig around and try and find out some things about it. I do know the guy that built it and lived here's last name was black and we live on black road! |

| I bet its Haunted to. Hopefully in a good way. My home was built in 1809 when CA was still part of Mexico and my ancestors immigrated from Norway. Cool part it, we have always kept it in the family and yes, ITS TOTALLY HAUNTED. However, nothing bad always positive stuff around there so you won't see it on any of those ghost hunting shows. My family would probably sit down and chat with them anytime. |

We found property tax bills from the 1940's when we renovated our house a couple of years ago. |

I love the story about your house, very cool. But one reason I wanted to build a house where is because I won't live in one where someone died. I see dead people. LOL |

My barn was originally built in the 1879. The main uprights are actually logs. They cut down the trees, stood em in the holes and built the barn. We have since remodeled a bit, but we kept those uprights, just reinforced them a bit. |

Location: Woodstown, NJ | I love old houses! I hope you're going to keep as many original details as you can. We found a little hidden room in one of our old houses. No one noticed it because there was a puffback in the basement and all the walls were sooty. It wasn't until we were there for two years and I was painting the basement that a little part of the wall moved. That's when I discovered it. Inside was all the paperwork from the original owners, old milk cans filled with change (started my husband's coin collection--it was a few thousand dollars worth!), some old baskets and an old oil lamp. |

My son got a medal detector a few years back and has found all kinds of neat things around our ranch! It's crazy that we are fascinated and treasure what was considered old, trash or useless. |
