I decided to get one vial of the horse prerace version of Legend. It's a 10ml vial and its 50mg per ML. So 1 cc is same as 4cc Legend. Anyway, it's says there are no preservatives so it's a single use vial. Makes no sense. If your using sterile technique why would you not be able to use it multiple times like the Pentosan vials?

I'm about positive that some of the things from pre-race are just sterile fluids :-/

I've used them too and did not see the same results as when we used name brand or vet/US ordered generics.

The labels are confusing on some things and spelled incorrectly sometimes, just seems fishy so we quit ordering from there.

This is my take on it and i may be wrong, but it sounds to me like once you introduce air into the bottle you break the barrier and there's no preservative in there to keep it "good." so it would spoil. But I am not sure, and I have never used that product.

I would call them to clarify, however, if you're using sterile needle and syringe with every use, I would be confident you didn't contaminate the product. But the stuff from horse preface is much cheaper than actual legend that it might be worth it to throw it after taking out one dose. OR store the rest of the doses in sterile syringe and needles? Curiosity would get the best of me, I have access to growth agar, I would have to plate a few samples and see if they were good.....

Thanks all! Another question. I bet you can't but can you OD a horse on HA? So Instead of throwing the bottle away I could just use the whole thing one time. Yes, according to the bottle he would be getting 500mg HA instead of 40 but would it hurt?

Don't you have any other horses or friends you could share with, logic tells me that if 40 is right 500 of anything is too much unless it's money or gold pieces, or diamonds..... You get my drift....

 First Google response....

http://equimed.com/drugs-and-medications/reference/hyaluronic-acid

also, slowly remembering the portion of my schooling about drug labels and their definitions: you might want to read this from the cdc

http://www.cdc.gov/injectionsafety/providers/provider_faqs_singlevials.html

if it were me, I'd probably use it again in a week or so....I'm guessing the only things you might see are injection site reaction or the ha not working....might be worth the risk if you're a cheapskate like me.....

I wouldn't be able to do this purely because I don't have any horse friends that do things this way but if you do, you could split the bottle with someone to use it all quickly. That way your not wasting $ or having to be concerned with safety
