Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | My husband worked there for a while in Angleton, we have a RV though and stayed in Surfside and Oyster Creek. My BIL rented a beach rental though and split it with a few other guys, not sure if thats an option for you, but there are lots of places to rent in Surfisde. Lake Jackson isnt to far either.
Some of the prices seem scary for a week/night but call and see if they have monthly rates, when we're in an rv spot monthly is always cheaper than weekly and nightly rates, usually by 1/2 price. If that might work for you, the RV spots there are cheap, I think we paid $400 at Surfside Beach RV Park. You can pick up a cheap camper in Texas pretty reasonable, and sell it when you're done with it.
