I am looking into having a horse shipped from NY to WA. I'm hoping someone can tell me approximately how much I am looking at spending, and who is a good transporter.

I would look at commercial haulers that go that route regularly. Look at Bob Hubbard, Brookledge, Salle Vans, etc. They may not be the cheapest, but they have the semi rigs and haul Thoroughbreds across the country on a regular basis.

You're probably looking at $1.25 - $1.75 per mile to have a horse shipped. There are companies that charge much more but in getting quotes that's typically where I've found pricing to be.
