What is the AQHA standards regarding sock/stocking height? I have always heard they could not come above the knee or something to that effect. Anyone know?

AQHA changed their white rule 2007 because a lot of really nice horses were being disqualified. Now if a horse has white above the knee or hock, excessive white on the face or white on the body the horse can still be registered BUT the application must include four pictures of the horse indicating the white and the horse may be subject to in person inspection and parentage verification.

^^^ Thank you!

I have been asked about my AQHA gelding a number of times because he has an unusually high stocking on his front left. My mom told me that back in the day I would have probably had a hard time registereing him.

I believe as long as he was gelded, he could still have been registered, but don't quote me on that!!!

I believe the OLD "white rule" was that it couldn't be above the middle of the knee or hock.  So from the looks of that pic, your gelding would have been right at the "line".
