Location: floating down a river | Does anyone have an APHA account that they could look up a registered name and age of a horse? I have an ID number. So it should not cost any money. Thanks in advance. |

Current APHA members can now access their horse's information online for free. After you log in, select "My APHA" then "My APHA(Home)." Click "My Horses" and select your horse's registered name to view the two-generation pedigree and photo.

Of course APHA is always running around doing things like a one legged frog .... your freebie is only for your own registered horses .... even though our memberships paid to form the pedigree database and IT equipment at APHA ... If you want to see a horse you might want to buy or breed to..... members are charged again to use their own equipment ... lol
I am a lifetime member with APHA and will never own another paint until they shed themselves of the current bunch that are destroying APHA, close the books to allow only horses with a real colored or solid paint in their pedigree and discontinue all the color requirements to participate in APHA events and races. ..
The big to do about paint side pots at local barrel races just got hit with a color change ... only colored regular registered paints can win any of the money and the majority of the money paid into the side pots by paint owners will go to the pot at PAINT WORLD .. not to local barrel events. Ahhhh paint members/owners get short changed again!!

Exactly why we never showed our barrel mare at APHA events, she was solid and was getting the short stick everywhere. Color shouldn't matter in barrels/non-judged events. Especially when she is more paint then most colored ones are! |

| Color should not matter in any event. Most of the horses that run in the sidepots around here are solid. |

It does matter in judged events such as western pleasure/halter/english events because Judges are biased. Always have been, always will be. So they should have seperate classes there, but when judges don't have a say, then it should be a single class with all colors/types. |

I know that there is a difference. I just sad that there should not be. |

| The color requirement is foals born 2013 and after that are solid with the paint parent rule.....see PBRIP.com under rules.
If you have a solid paint born 2012 or before your solid is eligible to run in the side pots and win money.
If you subscribe with a silver subscription for $25 you can look up any horse. See APHA website or call for additional info.
If you are wanting to run in the sidepots its best to familiarize yourself with the rules because getting information second hand can sometimes be incorrect.
PBRIP is in its third year and there are good people trying to make this program work. Please be nice as they are trying to give girls with paint horses another avenue to win extra cash at the jackpots.

| How can you say participation was expanded when the rules were ALL PAINTS and changed in January of 2015 to the following to knock the solid bred paints out of participating in PBRIP ... same as stakes races on the tracks.
If you were breeding paint barrel horses and your mare was a solid paint and a fantastic barrel racer ... her foals cannot participate and they backed this rule up 2 years which means the breeder is left hanging with some grade babies that have paint papers!!
It is like changing the voting rules and allowing illegal immigrants and non-citizens to vote in tomorrows elections ...
Read this and note the time frame it was changed by the PBRIP COMMITTEE following the advice of Karen Utecht who is obcessed with colored paints .. yet allows full blooded quarter horse cropout stallions and others to be registered as paints ... and leaves your honestly registered solids hanging from the rafters. BTW .. read the rules again and besure you understand what they are saying when limiting the solids from PBRIP ..

37% OF ALL PAINTS REGISTERED ARE SOLID BRED PAINTS REGARDLESS HOW MANY REGULAR REGISTERED COLORED PARENTS THEY HAVE ....
APHA FINANCIAL REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Look at page 25 at the purple bar graphs in the lower right corner to see the loss of membership from 2009 - 75.8 down to 51.2 in 2013 a loss of 24,600 members in 5 years.
Look at page 28 to see the loss of yearly registrations comparing 2003 of 51,120 down to 13,409 in 2013 a loss of 37,711 annual registrations ..
Look at page 29 to see your chances of having a colored paint baby on the pie charts .. and APHA wants to cut out the participation of 37% of their registered horses due to them being solids ...
Have fun with this link ..
