| As the title sais, how would you feel if sombody changed the registred name on a horse you raised?
Im thinking of doing to, but on the other hand I think I would feel a little sad if one of mine got changed, as i put a lot of thought into them. Espicaly if there was some special meaning. |

| I've done both, or had both done. I changed Xena's registered name from Streakinsomyonder to Bunny Be Quick, which I really liked. Her previous owner didn't seem to mind at all, but I don't think they'd been the ones to name her originally. And I've had a new owner change a registered name that I picked. Didn't hurt my feelers at all since the new name was very cute and fitting for the horse (Lil Easy Flit to Easy Flittin Kitten).

Location: Mississippi | I changed my 3yos name. It was Banditos Crimsonflow. I changed it to IBERED. I just couldn't handle having one named after Aunt Flo. Of course IBERED was my last choice but still better than what it was. |

| I believe horses and dawgs live up to their names and I have changed a lot of horses names due to having breeders initials in the name or just a lousy name. A lot of high dollar sale horses get their names changed by the new owners.
I regretted selling one of my palomino fillies out of a daughter of Streakin Six and managed to buy her back and found out the interim owner had changed her name ... so I changed it back to what I had named her ... lol
Just remember ... name changes can only happen BEFORE horse is entered in any AQHA events, races or old name has been listed on a stallion report ...

That made me LOL some times i wounder about names.
This ones not bad, part of his name is the same name as one of my really close friends i had who became addicted to crystal meth and dosent even make sence any more if you can even find him to see how he is. Just makes me sad. |

| I can't imagine spending the money to change one. Who ever uses the registered name anyway - EXCEPT to enter. I've had a LOT of horses with DUMB registered names. |

Location: Wisconsin | I just changed one, honestly her name was weird it was spelled odd and I didn't want to write it out on entries or be announced with it. Honestly the pick I ended up with fits her papers betters than the random oddness she had prior. |

I'd have had to change the Crimson flow one also! That's just bad.
Back in the day a friend of mine wanted to change the registered name of her hunter jumper to "BuckNaked"...that way when she entered the ring the announcer would say: And here is Kellie Benn riding Buck Naked!

| I have changed a few names, and had them changed on a few I sold...doesn't bother me, even if I have raised it. Had a filly I wanted to change, her name was Ima Jumpn Chicklet...couldn't stand that name! But never changed it before I sold her. Had another, Beaver Commander, and changed it to Jettin For Corona since he was a son of Southern Corona. There are some weird names out there, some just don't fit the new owners. |
