Location: the high desert | Is there any other wool pads comparable to a 5 star? I love 5 stars and really want one but there spendy. I would love to have a csi saddle pad but ha! Ya no, the thought of spending that much on a saddle pad is just...ya...no. How are the diamond wool saddle pads? Or do I just need to pony up the bucks and get a 5 star? I know there worth it, but spending $200+ on a saddle pad is just...meh. |

Location: Oklahoma | You can get them for under $200 easily as long as you aren't wanting something super thick. My 30x30 1/2" was $170. Get them on sale or get a used one.... Well worth the money!! Not to say there aren't other acceptable pads out there, just trying to let you know they might be more affordable than you think. |

Location: the high desert | I keep looking on the used 5 star Facebook page all the time and keep looking elsewhere but I must be missing the good deals. Almost had a 1/2" 5 star the other day for $175 but just missed it. Does wool really help protect the horses back? I'm a...big girl and while I have a good fitting saddle I still want to make sure I'm protecting my horses back as much as possible since I am...heavy. |

| I've never felt another wool pad as soft and conforming as then5 stars. I do believe a good fitting saddle and a quality wool pad is the best combo. I didn't care for the saddleright I had and my issue with CSI's is the thickness, even with the 1/2" liner you're still 3/4" this in total, which for my personal saddle is too thick. A 1/2" 5 star is just perfect. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | My theory is you get what you pay for, I LOVE Todd slone pads. But if you want a decent pad for about $135-$150 try the 3/4" classic equine pad, I've had mine a couple years now and it has held up great. |

Location: NC | You get what you pay for honestly. I just am not well off by any means. But I will not skimp on a saddle pad. 5 Stars are the only pads that touch my horses. It's the least I can do since they're toting my big butt around.
Saddle pads are one thing you shouldn't skimp on. That's what is touching the horses back and providing protection and cushion between you, the saddle and your horse. Spend the money. You won't regret it. 5 Star can't be beat. |

| I have all Ed Wright pads, they are just as good as the 5 stars (I have had both) and hold up just as well. Great, great pads for the money. It's all I ride our horses in. |

Location: the high desert | Alright, I have decided to pony up the bucks and buy a 5 star. It might not be a custom one as I found a really good deal on ebay, but it is still a 5 star lol. |
