I have been working my horse this week with a Martha wright german martingale. it has helped me and my horse. has anyone run their horse at the race with the martingale? I am just not ready to switch back to another bit. i have only lopped him. i haven't' pushed him yet. he needed more flex in his second barrel turn. also, would a Martha josey million dollar bit be a nice bit to switch over to since i need more flex in my turn?

I have run horses in the Ed Wright German Martingale and then eventually went to a different bit depending on each individual horse, without the martingale.

I have one horse that I always run with a German Martingale. He is 12 and has been running barrels for a LONG time. It is usually used as a training device but my trainer told me to run him with. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

thank you. I didn't know if it was more of a training device and maybe I should not use it at the rodeo.

Whats the name of the short martingale that attaches right to the breast collar?

We know someone that runs a powerful chargy horse in one.
