Location: Texas | I saw Red Cell pellets today at the store. Don't know if they are new or I just haven't been paying attention. Is there any advantage to the liquid Red Cell? It looks like the pellets would be easier to feed. |

Location: Kansas | I think they've made the pellets for a long time. Matt has fed them to his horses for the past year on & off. I feed the liquid to Chance occasionally and like it because it helps hold his powdered supplements to his grain. |

Location: Texas | Thanks. We usually just poor it on the feed but thought the pellets would be less messy. Just concerned about the digestibility of it or if it would have about the same functionality. |

Location: Idaho | Ive fed red cell for years. Been using the pellets for the last couple. I like the pellets because you can regulate how much they get, more even feeding. But I do like the liquid if i use any other powder supplements. It heps hold everything together and they eat it better. But im a fan of the pellets! :) |

| The amounts are different in pellets than in the liquid. Calcium, Vitamin D3, Folic Acid, etc. |

| I have to drench my one horse that I give the red cell to as he refuses to eat it in his feed. So maybe the pellets he would eat. I give the Red Cell may about 2 or 3 times a week. Just to keep his appetite up. |

| I use it on my 25 year old. I have not seen that it makes him hot, he is pretty laid back, but he is also retired. I think it just keeps his appetite up a little. |

Location: Texas | Might just try the pellets next time. We feed it just for extra energy for the older horses. |

I always understood it as an iron supplement. I use it for any that have/had ulcers, just for a few months. |

it made my laid back barrel horse buck! I cut dosage in half of recommended amount and she still acted squirrely. |

| It is an iron building supplement and not a very good one, there are better alternatives now.
Red cell can increase one's energy if they are really drug down by something but over time it will cause stomach upset. I had an ulcer prone horse on it and the vets told me to get him off of it. I really feel like its a supplement that should only be used if your trying to build iron back in the system not as a "pep them up feel good" supplement, there are better things for that purpose and much better mineral supplements out there. |

I like EPO equine it stimulates the production of erthropoietin and seems to work quicker to bring chem levels back to normal on horses getting over things or lixotinic is much better than red cell but more expensive and can cause the same digestive issues when used long term. |
