Location: MN | I've been feeding Safe Choice Perform which is high fat, low carb, but wondering if there are any others out there that may be better? |

Location: NC | I like Triple Crown Senior because it is very low in starch but high in fat. But the ulcery horse I had decided she didn't want to eat the beetbulp shreds in it so I switched to Legends Performance Pellet and really like that too. |

| Base your feed program off of alfalfa as much as possible. You will find the more you feed the less grain you will need.
low starch
feed small frequent meals like if you normally feed twice split it into 3 (if possible)
grass hay in front at all times
No molasses or sugars
I've been told to watch any joint supplement with HA or MSM (as MSM is derived from DMSO) which is hard on the stomach. Red cell can ask cause irritation

| About 4 weeks ago I switched my ulcer prone horse to Ultium (high fat, low starch) and alfalfa hay. Not sure which has made the biggest difference, but he's feeling really good. I treated the ulcers also and am now trying to prevent. |

Nope, I just give them to her dry. I feed a powder supplement so I splash some apple cider vinegar in with it to make the supplement stick. |

| I feed safe choice perform to my ulcery horse, too. Haven't had any issues with it. I feed the original in the winter when not hauling so much and perform in the spring/summer. |

Ditto to this. I switched out grain for high quality alfalfa and my hottie got much more brainy. My colicky mare quit colicing. And there has been an overall improvement in everything including foot quality and behavior. |

| No grain - I feed renew gold and alfalfa. Progressive ProAdd is also another great choice- a concentated feed. It sounds expensive but yu only feed 1 cup am and pm- has all their nutrients. Feed ot or the renew gold with soaked molasses free beet pulp for more calories if needed. I have not fed a grain for 4 years. |
