They make medicated minerals, so I don't trust them on this either, aside from the boycott on ADM in general. |

They sold feed contaminated with trace amounts of monensin, it sickened several horses and killed a few. ADM denied responsibility and continued to sell feed out of the batch that was contaminated. I was feeding Patriot senior, Healthy Glo, and Gro-strong minerals and loved the products, but because of their actions have chosen not to further support such a company. |

Location: Florida.. | I will not buy either.. I fed their products for many years and not anymore.they denied even with lab tests . and continued to sell the very batch that made many horses sick.. my friends event barn was tested and had several effects..competitions were even put off and ADM still denies wrong doing..search for it on here 2 threads..they sponsored and were dropped..due to this as well. |

That's a slap in the face to Rachel and the others who are dealing with horses affected by the poisoning. |

| I missed the original threads about safe feed, but was able to locate and read them now. I really appreciate the information and am sorry for the owner who had to go through this ordeal. I have been looking for a good loose mineral, but I don't want to go buy something and haul it home just to chance making my horses sick or worse. I'll pass on their products.

I might have reacted differently if the company had taken responsibility and tried to do something about it. But for them to basically stick fingers in their ears while yelling lalalalalalalalalaicanthearyoulalalalalalaProblemwhatproblemlalalalalalala, not cool. And if someone chooses to keep using them, that's their choice, but to do so while pretending nothing could possibly go wrong makes me angry. |

Location: Willows, CA | Years ago I asked MoorMans (now owned by ADM) to make a formula of the the GroStrong mineral to my spec. They agreed to do that for me, and we sold it on the West Coast as "Western Region Formula from Natural Glo". After a few years, they adopted my formula as their standard GroStrong mineral that they still sell today. They were a different company, run a different way , back then, and I hate to see what is going on now. |

| Don't know if it is available where you are, but I use a loose mineral from Tribute. It is called Grass Plus Mineral. I really like it, horses eat it and it has the amino acids and a about everything in it. |

Location: Florida.. | I do to for I really liked their horse products. I think had this been handled differantly more horse owners would have felt differantly.. They should have recalled and rectified the situation and Not deny it. With Lab tests and vets clearly stating the grains contained Monosin and caused horses health issues and put them at risk I just have no respect for the company at all..and to top that off call the horse owners "overreacting" that have the lab results and vet bills...... Damage control would have spoke volumnes not denial.

Supporting a company that is no friend of your sport or industry is a slap in the face to the people that you consider your peers and a complete lack of regard for your horses.
Anyone who thinks that they have not been affected in some way by this issue is living with their heads in the clouds. If you have owned horses for very long or have owned very many horses in general, it is very unlikely that you haven't had a horse that's been exposed to Monensin at some point in it's life.
Consider the possibility that the "hard keeper" that you can't get to bloom, or the one that seems to keep ulcers no matter what you do, and maybe the one that died from a random colic didn't get sick because of a "weather change"....There might have been a toxic substance in your feed and it never crossed your mind to check.
For those who are taking this issue seriously, here is a link to Blue Bonnet's - Stride Element loose mineral. This is what we are feeding now: http://bluebonnetfeeds.com/pdf/stride_element.pdf |

Location: The Oklahoma plains. | It should also be noted that they make a lot of private label minerals for customers. Say like a feed mill wants a certain formula to add to their line of feeds, ADM will make it for them. So even if you have an iopnophore free feed mill, they may in fact purchase their mineral pack from ADM. Just something to consider. |
