Location: Pa | I brought a new mare into my pasture about 4 weeks ago. I have one gelding and another mare (she's actually a pony, around 14hh) my pony will not allow the new mare to eat out of the hay rack, or into the barn. It's warm enough that she's okay being outside, I've just been bringing her hay and feed to her . I thought the petty fighting would be over by now, but is not. Is there anything I can do to help them get along better? Or is this just nature I can't do anything about? I understand mares are very protective and sassy about their geldings.. Just wondering before I build another run-in . |
