I have the option of buying a Cactus or a Double C saddle. The cactus is used, the Double C is practically new. I need it to fit my round mare (she's cowy built) but she has standard withers. Which tree would probably fit best? I'm assuming that they're both the standard tree for that company??? I know the gullet on the Cactus is 7.5 gullet... Which would you go with if you were in my shoes?

I have a double c with the buster Welch tree and it is awesome! Mine was custom made for me and my mare. Awesome saddle, very well made, and the materials used are awesome. Can't go wrong with the double c

I've never heard of Double C Saddlery before but I'm glad it was brought up. I really like the way their saddles look, barrels and cutters, but I wish I could find more information on them.

I don't know anything about the way either saddle fits but I know both are good brands.
So I will say after buying and selling 5 saddles last year looking for the perfect fit - whichever one fits your horse is the right choice. I get the feeling you don't have the option of trying them one first. I would try and track someone down locally who has one you can try.
After spending a lot of money on saddles...I won't buy anything unless I can try the same saddle on the horse first.
