Location: NE Texas | After this gorgeous weekend we had, it is officially springtime and our house. We mowed, disked up my ground, got all of my horses worked, bathed, and out to eat some green grass. First outside horse of the year coming in this week, 2 YO gone to get broke, 3 YO going next, and 5 YO starting to feel like himself again. Heck we even had our first stray/dumped dog appear this weekend. The sunshine felt wonderful and I might have even felt a bead of sweat drip! Woooohooooo!

Location: Texas | For the past week it has felt GREAT around here! Mid-70's during the day, 40-50ish at night, constant breeze and EVERYTHING is green! Trying to get as many outside projects done before the lovely 90+ degree, with 100% humidity, summer arrives!
I have also noticed it is putting everyone in a good/happy mood - which is always a plus!

| yep its spring - this will be the fourth year in a row, we have lived here 14 years without a skunk problem. Four years ago a female skunk dug under our slab by the front door to have her babies. and every year there after. none have lived as we trapped them and took them off and they went to skunk heaven. All the little ones have not survived either. They must have left brail on the trees giving directions, however a female moved in 3 nights ago. We have poured cement in the other holes and they just move down a foot or so. Tried moth balls everything we can think of . Yea Spring - except the skunks !! |

Location: NE Texas | Kaycee....it's about that time, isn't it! I think I shall start back on my wild man here in a couple of weeks then i'll be ready. Been riding mom's big yella horse, so he'll be ready for her if she wants to, and then it's time to find us a can chasing or two! I need it to be on the second and fourth weekends if possible! HAHA
Total Performance, your kiddos are about to show us that they are official race horses! Today is the day for the Hank-ster! Run Hank Run!!!!!!
Bibs, wow, those flowers are gorgeous! I know that has to make you smile every time you go outside!
Mainer.....all I can say is I am so sorry! I don't know how you northerners handle it! I would definitely have to invest in a tanning bed just to get some warmth and sun! LOL Come on down to Texas....we've got mosquitos big as birds right now, but at least it's warm!

LOL, we had a good Spring once again with it being such a wet winter, last year was a good one too. But we know its going to be a pretty Spring when we get lots of rain during winter. There's been a few Springs without the wild flowers with the drought and super dry winters. I havent been to Floresville yet this spring but I bet its looking good too. |

Funny you should say that! A friend of mine and I had to go get her horse in Texas last April. So I'm hit with GORGEOUS weather and don't want to leave. However.....I had to change into my barn shoes so I get out of the car, take off my shoes and grab the boots from the trunk. It wasn't even a 30 second switch out and we get trolling along and I feel something in my boot. Take it off.....nothing.....2 minutes later.....I feel something so I take MY HAND place it in the boot and a bug the size of a small pteradactle bird comes flying out! Needless to say I screamed like a monkey, my friend almost went off the road. THAN that night my first tornado warning. IT WAS ON EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL!!! I thought it was armageddon! I called the hotel to see if I needed to go to a safe room and they just said.."you are not from around here are you?" I think I'll take the snow! You southern people are tough! |

Okay.. I'm rollign here. I swear, misquitoes and I are sworn enemies. And that phrase, is the most common said thing in TN to people out of state. HA HA. We get EVERYONES weather and natural disasters. Flooding, tornadoes, left over hurrican whiplash, minor earth quakes, bi-polar weather ranging from ice and sleet to 70 degrees IN THE SAME DAY. lmao. It'll make you nuts. |
