You're better off getting 2 heavier axles then 3 lighter.  A triple axle trailer will bind when turning.

I would prefer 2 axles over 3, but if the trailer is longer than 40' or heavy, 3 axles would distribute the weight better.

 Tires are very expensive and you are going to have more flats on a triple axle.  The middle and back tires are going to get a lot of things picked up and thrown into them.  Also what the other poster said about not being able to turn as sharp because of binding and chancing popping of the tires from the rims.
