| After all my research and this wonderful board full of people with great knowledge.
I am leaning towards RG & Forco with alfalfa.
Currently feeding strategy but I want to get my horses off all grain...
Thoughts, opinions please. |

| I have fed all of these. The Fuel made my horses look awesome, but they had FUEL. lol I currently feed RG and primarily alfalfa diet but they do have orchard grass in front of them 24/7. THey look just as awesome on the RG and my horses actually have DAPPLES.lol Bay horse with dapples.lol THe one thing you will notice with RG is its CALMING and FOCUS effect on the horse. My colt Is far more trainable, and holds his weight. Still has fire but he is so much more focused. |

| Thank you FLITASTIC! Good info!
I need focus and calm, not fuel right now :) |

Location: Great Places Great Faces | I feed RG and unlimited grass hay to the hottest horse I've ever owned and also the hardest keeper and I am so pleased with how she looks and feels. Not hot and very well filled out! I didn't see the same results with force when I used it last year. |

It's funny you mention the results with the fuel. After all these discussions on mills etc I think the quality of feed really depends on the mill it comes from. Very disappointing. Even more reason to go with renew gold. You know it's safe and consistent. |

Location: Phoenix | I'm liking the Renew Gold and alfalfa/grass hay. My horse is calm, but he can get hot. This stuff isn't going to change your horse, mine still gets hot in certain situations. But I feel like those situations are fewer and farther between. |

I feed a pound a day which is NOT very much and my mare is PLENTY "round!" |

1 pound per day, which is a doggie scoop twice per day. I can't believe how they maintain weight. |

Location: Oklahoma | I've been feeding Pro Force Fuel since November but I'm not super happy with the results. Where in the OKC area can I get Renew Gold? I've had my horses on it when in San Diego, and I'm ready to switch back |

Do you know how many cups of renew gold would make a pound?? |

| Rep with RG told me that any dealer that sells the RG should be getting the measuring scoop with it for free. Not all know that they can get those.
Rep said roughly 3 1/2 cups = 1/2 lb |

Pretty sure I saw it at Lumber 2 on Sooner and I-240. Is it true you only feed such small amounts of this stuff?

Sorry I didn't get the cup - I have a scale at home and I purchased a doggie feed scoop at the local pet store. A heaping scoop weighed in exactly 1/2 pound. |

Location: North Dakota | If for no other reason, I'd be afraid to switch from the Renew Gold for safety reasons. I don't know what feed companies to trust anymore (besides RG). I have fed it since January and right now my horse is being treated for ulcers so I haven't seen the results YET but he loves it and I know once he's feeling better it'll help him get fat n shiny.
ETA- He gets 1lb in the morning. His only other feed is grass hay, alfalfa, supplements, and beet pulp (which I'm weaning him off).

You should be able to get it at TSC if they order it. I bought four bags from Cross Brand Feeds back in Aug-Nov. I think I bought them out, but they said that they'd happily re-order it for me. Who knows, they might even keep it in stock now.
My 17 year old pasture ornament gets around .75lbs/day and my 12 hard-ish keeper gets around 1.25lbs, but I did up him to 1.5lbs while I sent him away to tred. |

Location: Piedmont, OK | I love Pro Force Fuel. My horses look amazing on it. but I have not tried Renew Gold so I can't really compare the two. But my vets, shoer, chiro everyone has commented on how great my horses look since switching them from Koolspeed to Pro Force Fuel |

Location: Florida | I have to get it at a specialty feed store and its just over $40 after tax. Booo, but she gets less than a lb a day right now, plus alfalfa, so it's $40/ month to feed her QUALITY. I'll take it. |

Location: Bandera, TX | I made the switch to RG early last fall. I have a mare that gets HOT, I had a very nice rider taking my horses out for me (I have no time). She called me after working her last weekend and asked me what I did with her. I'm hopful the RG is making positive changes in her.
Good to hear someone say they had young horses on it, I think I might just try it on my three yearlings.
Talk to WinWillows he is easy to talk with and very helpful. |
