Who all is "eating clean"?  The SO and I are starting ASAP but I need some suggestions are recipes and what to buy.  I know to shop on the outside of the Supermarket.

Does anyone have like a weekly or monthly meal planner?  I do better with stuff like that so I am not wondering what to make that day.

One of our BB's sent me a great list awhile ago, I have it printed it off and ready to shop but would like some more pointers.   What does everyone do for their sweet tooth?

I would love menus as well! There is a girl that I used to workout with a couple of years ago, but we weren't ever really friends to begin with. I still. follow her on instagram and I see that she's doing meal prep for a few other people..... Thinking about befriending her again and seeing if she would make my meals for me!!!

But back on point... I know that herbalife has some meal plans (you can just cut out their portion of it and it still might be a decent plan. I also see some Pinterest, but I haven't really looked closely at them.

Good for you!! I eat a lot of veggies with chicken, turkey or fish. Great sweet tooth helper for me is a sweet potatoe with butter and cinnamon and also yogurt. Get creative and have fun with it! Also have 1 cheat meal a week so you stay sane!

I am so looking forward to getting back to eating right, working out, and feeling better.

I've been majorly derailed by a breakup and moving. First thing after I get moved in a month is to go buy a membership to the gym right down the road.

I need to get back to eating clean in the meantime. Any lists would be GREAT!

I'm not sure if I can post the link or not, but next week I'm doing a 5 day clean eating challenge group on Facebook.  I'll be posting meal plans and there will be support and suggestions from a few people that have been eating clean for a year or more.

Once I get the meal plans finalized I can post them here too!

Thank you, thank you!!

I cook supper for my family every night, we don't eat processed foods, the kids never eat fast food and we don't need to lose weight. However, I know we would feel, and be so much healthier, if we ate less fried, greasy or butter.... but I need some options the kids and hubby would actually entertain.

One thing i have learned for sweet tooth is raw honey. Not regular honey. Reg honey has fructose syrup mixed in it. So really read the labels! :))

Here is the link for the FB group - it's free and anyone can join!  I'm going to work on finalizing the meal plan tonight, so I'll try to get it posted either tonight or tomorrow for anyone that doesn't want to join!

I've got 3 people that eat clean for different reasons in the group to answer questions, make suggestions, and for motivation.  The first is my mom, my dad is on a super strict diet because of his MS.  She hates to cook, so she'll be good for quick and easy recipes.  The second is my friend that is allergic to all kinds of foods.  She has done a great job of coming up with "normal" recipes that she has made to fit her needs. She's also a nutrition whiz and can analyze a label faster and better than anyone I've ever seen!  The third person is my friend from high school.  In the last few years he has really started focusing on his health and fitness.  He's lost quite a bit of weight and loves to motivate people!  So, if you want to join the group, hopefully there will be an "expert" you can relate to :).

Ok, not sure why the link isn't live.  It's called: Clean Eating Challenge: April 6-10.  Or you can friend me on FB (Jennifer Fizer) and I will add you to the group.

For the sweet tooth a frozen smoothie. Like extra blueberries for a blueberry taste or extra strawberries for that strawberry taste and so on and so forth . I mix a combination of fruits and veggies. It could be 10 different items in one smoothie in small portions. What I don't use will be made fresh for breakfast.

Thanks everyone, we both kind of started yesterday, planning on making to the store this weekend to stock up but making due with what I can get in the small town we live in.

I really do not need to lose weight I just want to feel better and have more energy.  The SO would like to lose about 15 pounds.  We are bound and determined to make this work.

The key to eating clean is VEGGIES VEGGIES VEGGIES. =) It's the easiest way for our own bodies to find balance and flush itself consistently/naturally.

Just make sure your veggie portions are bigger than all other portions.
I use this website religiously. It has meals, meal plans, calories, grocery list setups. And because I have a windows phone it will sync from my computer to my phone.

Sometimes its hard to find the ingredients you'll need and they are costly at the grocery store. Check out vita cost.com usually they have BOGO deals plus quoina and chia seeds are cheaper there than anywhere else. Quest bars are cheapest here as well. All fall within clean eating guidelines

I also picked up a copy of Clean Eating magazine at the store.  I'm on week 2 of the menu.  Each month has a new menu, recipes and shopping lists which I needed!  You can also download them online:

Best of luck in transitioning to clean eating, here are my (learned by experience) tips!

a) don't overwhelme yourself, if you need to ease into the transition do that

b) Eat what you LIKE! Don't feel you need to buy every veggie, fruit, low fat whatever. Buy what you know you'll enjoy and actually want to eat ...it shouldn't be a struggle

c) Let your body tell you....for example I can't eat a lot of red meat, so I don't eat it often, which is ironic since we raise beef. Healthy is good but doesn't always mean your body agrees.

d) Google! It's a wonderful thing, since we can search very specifics and recipes will come up, along with great blogs

e) Your not alone when it gets hard, some days will come when you want to consume something you shouldn't. If you want to designate a "cheat meal" once a week it's not terrible. A 80/20 balance is usually manageable with clean eating. Cheat meal can be simple a homemade pizza or pasta!

f) Meal prep! Key factor to clean eating and being prepared at times when your hungry.

If you really want to eat clean, nutrient dense food, try finding and a talking to a local farmer. Find one who raises animals and veggies in a way that will produce the food you want. I have raw milk, pastured pork, chickens who are really free range, and grass fed and finished beef that doesn't taste nasty like the "grass fed 'you find at the store. I'm not certified organic but I go beyond the standards of organic.

If you think buying at the store, and going organic is the end all be all you need to talk to a local farmer. :) Ya'll can do better than shopping at the store! Honestly there is nothing better than fresh berries covered in FRESH RAW CREAM and a bit of honey!

Now that I've made my farmer rant please move along and continue with your conversation.
