My gelding REALLY bruised his upper pastern joint and is coming up on his last (hopefully) scans before he gets cleared to start rehab/legging up. I have been tossing around the idea of sending him to an aquatread center for this reason: it would allow his body to start working again without putting stress on his bones, and maybe giving them even more time to ease back into it.
I KNOW the Aquatread does not build bone density like regular riding. He is going to have MONTHS of working up ahead of him, we will build the density eventually. I am just thinking an Aquatread might be a good transition exercise from stall work -----> work.

Never dealt with a horse....but my stud colt kicked me back in October, laid me out!!!
I usually do not go to the hospital for just anything, I have to be dying to go to a doctor, literally.... I laid on the ground, rolled around when this colt kicked me, I actually thought he broke my arm.
Loaded up went to hospital, nothing was broke.....bad bone bruise.....the dang thing still hurts!!!

If you've got the extra finances, do it! I've never had one come back that didn't benefit from aquatread. Just make sure the place you choose has good references and that you see your horse often.
