Location: TN | I have had a crown c and Martin racer and love them both. I highly recommend you get your horse properly fitted through either the demo program or by going to the saddle shop in Greenville, TX. The wider gullet has helped my horse fill out and strengthen his back. |

I will add that most of my friend's were fitted by a Martin rep for "proper fit". |

I just adjust the cinch so that I can get a better fit on who ever I'm riding. Not anything I would change. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | Love the way it rides, but it's not a very versatile fit. I have an 8" that fits one horse really well, but doesn't work for anything else I own. This is not the right saddle for a horse with big shoulders. It either is too narrow and pinches, or is too wide in the middle and has to be shimmed. |

This is who I bought mine from as well. Sarah was great to work with and had my saddle shipped out the next day. |

This was my situation! Was told I needed a 9 for my mare. I loved the saddle itself , it was incredibly comfortable to trail ride in. I had a hard time with it while running barrels. Tried a pozzi last spring and didn't even look back! Sold both my crown c's, had an 8 as well, and bought a pozzi. I just got my second pozzi yesterday. I know the crown c's work for some but I would definitely try before you buy! |

| Mine is an 8.5" gullet I've had for three years now. I love the way it fits and rides. You don't have to cut them in half for the saddle to stay in place either. My only complaint is that it is way heavier than a MJ, Marlene Eddleman or any other barrel saddle I've had. I can't say that my horse has grown any more through the wither area using the Crown C and I still use a half inch beveled shim. Mine was fitted by Martin's saddle guru-Brian. |

| My friend lent me two of hers, one was a 10 in gullet and the other is an 11 flat. The flat made all the difference in fit. Saddly I have not got to ride her in the flat, as she hurt her self in the pasture but the 10 was not a pefrect fit along her back, it was ok and the saddle never slid around just not pefrect and it was still the freeist her sholders have ever been in a barrel saddle. Im probably going to end up order in a flat tree for her it appeared to be a great fit. I can't wait to try her in it.
I just know how nice my horse felt in it. Just have to find the right size for her and i think we will be set.
I also like how i felt in the saddle. The saddles are diffently winning me over.
But id diffently try one first as no saddle is the pefrect fit for every back AND butt ;-) |

I love this store! When my mare outgrew her 8, I was able to trade mine for a larger gullet. I am really busy and did not want to deal with selling my saddle, nor did I want to be without my saddle since we race almost every week. I bought a saddle from the store, then after it got to me, I shipped mine to her and she refunded me the money minus $100, which I thought was a very fair trade. She was great to work with! |

Location: Oklahoma | It worked for my gelding, but once he got hurt and lost muscle the saddle had to go and I switched to a Pozzi. I wouldn't be against riding in one again, but it'd have to be on a horse that isn't going to be having any changes. I also wish they were lighter. They're really heavy for a barrel saddle, IMO. |

| I worked my gelding up from a 7" to an 8" and had a 9.5" when I traded it for a Pozzi (through Sarah at A Bit of Tack!)
He grew evenly in the withers and back from the 7 to the 8 and initially the 9 was okay. But he didn't keep muscling evenly and eventually it just didn't fit right. the Pozzi fits beautifully.
My complaint would be I felt thrown forward in them compared to the way my Pozzi rides. |

Location: ND | I LOVE mine & wouldn't give it up for anything. I have the 10" gullet & would also like to get one with the flat bars. The changes I've seen in some of my horses with this saddle are amazing. My cold backed gelding will now saddle & ride off without being lunged. A younger one who drags his back toes in every other saddle i own does not drag his feet with it, instead he moves free with a huge stride. I only have one horse that does not like the saddle. I was very sceptical of the wide gullet when I first tried it on my shooting horse (the cold backed one) but the instant changes in him told me all I needed to know.

I love mine
If you are starting the crown c journey I suggest getting the horse properly fitted, and you need to get fitted.
The flat trees seats for bigger then the regular trees I think by 1/2", and if you get a saddle too small you will get dumped over the front.
I had my 4 yr old fitted by Brian and Tracey, they fitted her an 11 flat, se had no atrophy and has not went up any, she is now 6. This saddle is the only saddle she is not cold backed in, night and day difference even cinching her up.
If your horse is atrophied behind the shoulders you will need to go through a few saddles, and shim, if the back is in perfect condition you may not need to.
As for my 2/3 yr olds I ride them in one of my other saddles which ever one is the closest to fitting
If you have any questions feel free to message me and I will try and help you
Crown c also does a demo program, I encourage everyone to do this
As for the cheapest saddle
Irvines western wear in canada was the cheapest even at a dollar to dollar ratio. With the Canadian dollar being so crappy you will save another 15% |

| I have a 7" Gullet. I love it. I really had to play with pad combinations and shims to make it fit. Plus my horse runs a little downhill so that doesn't help at all. I had to raise the front up quite a bit. My horse runs well in it and it doesn't hinder him at all. BUT I would take a Meleta Brown Freedom saddle in a heart beat if they came in a smaller seat size. |
