So I wormed my horse 7 days ago. The next day I noticed small worms in his manure, so I thought the wormer was doing its job.
2 days ago he started rubbing his tail like a freak!  He's never done that before. Do I give him another dose? Can I give it now? Please help!

I am having the same issue! I think my problem is pinworms. Are the worms skinny, little white ones? I wormed her last week and now she is rubbing her tail. I never see her do it but each day her tail looks more and more broken and she has a rub mark on her cheek next to her tail. I have been using baby oil around her butt and dock of tail to keep the momma worm from laying eggs but not sure if it is helping. Should I worm again or what else can I do? I did Zimectrin Gold last time.

You can hit them a week apart with ivermectin based wormers. I did it for threadworms. Just wait 7 days.

Pinworms will lay sticky stuff and eggs outside and drive the horses crazy itchy.. we powerpaced my one mare that had them .. first time I ever dealt with them last year when she was at a friends barn..

I just powerpacked my horse about two or three weeks ago and just the other day I saw his tail had been rubbed and he had a mark on his butt as well. I was going to send in a fecal sample shortly but from what I understand the pinworms are on the outside of their butt.....if you put scotch tape on anus you can see the eggs.  Haven't tried that yet.

I would collect a stool sample have an egg count done and worm with the appropriate wormer
