SO, you ladies were very helpful when I posted that bit thread. Thank you VERY much. I prayed about it to God, because it's very important to me that Bug and I get it right. We click so amazingly well that I will always go the extra mile to make sure I ask him the right questions the right way. I talked to Josh ( the very accomplished rider who put the first few rides on Bug for Charlie. ) He's been riding for Charlie since he's been out of commision since his accident.
Anywho, he told me to put him in the saffle. ( VERY basic eggbut snaffle that I tried him in a week ago and it was a nightmare ride. ) Tie him on left, lunge him a bit, do the right, lunge a bit, then leave him "free" in the face and lunge him a bit.
Gave it a go.. OH MY GOSH. My gelding acted like an angel. Gave off leg pressure like a champ, moved into a relax COLLECTED lope both directions and EVEN did a flying lead change once on both sides. LOL the girl in the arena with me must have thought I was nuts, because I squealed and hugged my horse like he had just won a championship.
