Location: Carpenter, WY | about 4am this morning. A nice big, strong filly :) Kind of a new era for us as this is Slim's first foal with frozen semen. Meet Eydie Seis (was going to be Eddie Seis if it was a boy :) Dan roped off of a big Eddie bred gelding for years and has waited very patiently for months to see this cross. yep, she has duct tape courtesy of our vet. 4 days before she foaled Dan noticed she was pegging a little in the front so he hauled her in to have vet check it out and also check the foal. She had a mild case of founder (which I guess there has been alot of around here according to him) so before we could come back home and dig out the boots we haven't used in years, the vet duct taped a piece of stryrafoam (sp) on her front feet for 5 days. Not real fancy, but it did the trick. The tape and foam came off this morning and she is doing just fine. |
