I think the point would be to have people that seem to have a passion for horses be able to get together and have a good time enjoying that passion. And making new friends in the process. Don't know if we will be able to attend but I think it's a great idea. And I appreciate the work she's put in on trying to make it happen. |

Thank you CM! =)
Yes the point is to meet the people we share so much about our horses and our lives with, to make new friends and memories. We can haul all over the country for a barrel race, but we cant haul 6-8 hours (maybe a little more for some who want to go) to spend our time in the company of friends in Gods country? Psh.
I'm determined to do this. Lol even if 5 BBs are the only people who show up. My brother and I are going for sure, and possible two other groups of people from my area. =) Arkansas looks beautiful so I can't wait! I absolutely love meeting people from this site, and I've met a few! |

Also. Did a poll in one of the other posts. About 18 in texas alone are wanting to do it, then between about 17 other states the largest area of people seemed to have a central location of arkansas. If I can make this one a success I would like to do a couple BHW trail rides around the country so we can all participate. I myself am willing to haul all over the country because it's on my bucket list to go trail riding in every state I can on my horse. |

Going to round the shirts up to the next even 5 dollar amount pending how much they cost. Going to get with the ranch and ask about a dinner and breakfast idea too. But probably just set up a donation jar =) I hate 'requiring' donations. People can donate how much they want and can afford. |

It's going to be about a 7.5 hour trip for me. But thats why I invited a bunch of local peeps so we can cut gas costs by splitting it. |

| I think you should do a barrel race instead... BHW barrel race, members only, run by your screen name, get sponsors from advertisers on this site and see if BHW will also advertise and allow it to be run under their name, you can still do it as a benefit. I would drive a good ways to do that |

I would drive a good ways to do that that honestly would just be far too time and money consuming. Plus, I don't barrel race yet. :P I just have a prospect coming along. This is something everyone can do. I mean it would be fun... but I'm having a hard time getting people to form together on a trail ride. I highly doubt a barrel race would be easier, regardless of the fact this is a BR forum.

| Well we could set on up here. But I dont have the first clue about what is involved in one. The facility I board at would let me use their huge indoor, with fees for insurance and such...
But I'm not sure how many people would travel to TN for a benefit barrel race. I was honestly looking for a relax setting for all of us to get together, enjoy meeting new people, making friends and enjoying some of Gods country.

yea thats a bit of a drive my max ability right now is 9 hours hauling. Because of the gas, but I'll be splitting it 4-6 ways. We have two ppl who are not bringing horses, but are going to ride the ones they have available at that farm. That's an option if you have the time to drive that far and a cheaper vehicle( like I have a focus. lol that'd be like 2 tanks of gas at 20s a tank! )
I'm going to start trailing around more soon, especially once I get this new job and have 3 day work weeks. My goal is to trail in every state. I'll come visit all the BBs! |

Location: Texas | What is the estimated cost of this? It will be a 4 hour drive for me..
So lets just say May 15/16 are the dates
do we drive up the 15th? or 14th? For those with a longer drive that won't leave much drive time. Then we have to add in lodging fee's.. This place has good lodging for a group like us, I personally think it would be nice to maybe make this a few days longer and make a camp out of it.
For those of you that want a barrel race, chances are you still wou;dn't drive 10+ hours just to go to a barrel race... The trail ride is different than what we normally do and would be a blast! And maybe a mini vacay as well |

A weekend thing sounds good to me. So let's make the Haul night The friday. We'll stay Saturday and Haul out Sunday, which will give everyone the time they need to get home. I just wasn't sure how many would participate an entire weekend. =)
There's a few good deals on bunk houses and of course those who haul living quarter trailers have places to hook up water/electric. I really wish it would let me edit polls. I'll edit the main post and put this in there though. |

I would ask some of your facebook friends too. That's what I'm doing. We'll probably end up taking two trailers now! lol That way we all save on gas. =) I'm buying the shirts this friday. Going to get a talley after wed( when the date voting is done) and see who all is coming, including friends of the BBs and make sure I have enough shirts. Going to contact the ranch and let them know our group size as well, estimately. |

I found out some rates for ya'll ladies.
If you're just bringing a trailer is LQ the hook up is 25$ a night ( not sure if that applies if you're NOT hooking up, probably a nominal parking fees. ) that comes with two corrals for the night for your horses.
If you stay at the lodge its 70$ a night for 2 people, $5 Per person over that.
OR
You/we ( depending on how many ppl we end up totaling) can rent two adjoining rooms that sleeps 10 total, for $140 for 4 ppl, plus 30$ for the addition 6. So it would be $170 per night ( so it would be 340 divided between everyone. ) |
