Location: California | Okay so I have a 2 yr old colt. He will be 3 in July.
He is fed 2 large flakes of good quality alfalfa hay.
Beet pulp (some days more than others)
Crimped oats
DAC Oil & DAC Bloom.
Here's the thing. He has always had a very dry mane (I got him when he was 7mo). I have put Coconut Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, M-T-G & nothing has seemed to make his mane soft. It's like the products just run right through to his neck.
*Now these last couple months he has MAJOR dandruf. NOT just his mane, like literally all over his neck!!! He was originally on renew gold when he got like this, so I stopped and started with DAC supplements. (He was on both for a little bit to switch feeds).
I should mention that he sweats a lot during a work out & I try to rinse him down after every work out (unless it's too cold).
Could he be missing Vitamins? Or could it just be the change in atmosphere? The allergies have been the worst ever (for everyone human and animal) this year.
