I've been considering putting one of my competition horses on Previcox. I used it on a aged mare and it gave her 2 years of relatively pain free life. Last year I used bute starting 1 day prior to shows, then through how many ever days a show lasted. This horse won or placed in the 2D consistently last year. There are advantages to the different anti inflammatory drugs, and disadvantages. I chose the short term dosage of bute over daily Previcox knowing I could buffer her tummy during and after each use easier than if I used a daily dose of any of the anti inflammatory. I chose bute over banamine because banamine seems to give this horse too much edge, and she doesn't need edge at all.
what can i give to my horse other than previcox??
