I just built a new barn and want to prevent the horses from chewing on the new wood. Any suggestions on something I could paint or spray on the wood ?

I learned it here from one of the ladies. Paint Dawn Dish soap on it with a paint brush. Totally works.

I made sure my stalls were made with oak. It's a hard wood, so not really appetizing for horses to chew on.

Fresh yellow pine is soft and sweet
This is why I went Treated and I haven't had any problems
But in the past when I had plain number I just made sure they had good minerals and plenty of hay and turn out time

We put used motor oil on it...(don't tell the EPA).   Works like a charm.
