Location: Ft Worth TX | Have any of you noticed weight gain slowly over the years on Bith control pills? I have been on them 5 years straight, and then a break and 5 years prior on another brand and never noticed weight gain until the most recent 5 years where I gained 45lbs! It did not matter how I ate how hard I worked out- could not lose ANY OF IT. UNTIL Recently and I quit taking the pills for 2-3 months now and have LOST 20lbs so far and losing more weekly and I'm not even working out... Anyone else notice anything like this? |

Location: SE KS | I've had no weight gain & have been on them for 20 yrs.
Have you discussed this with your physician? Maybe there is another brand available. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | I know I gained some weight after I started on birth control. I certainly think it can affect you that way. I had so many positive things that happened too though like less back pain, fewer migraines, less heavy cycles. I know weight gain is very common with the pill, some worse than others. And of course even if you are doing fine as you get older your metabolism slows anyway. This can make it harder too. |

Location: Texas | I don't gain weight on it. I do gain water weight before periods though. Usually about the time I start griping about pants being tight.. then I remember. LOL |

Location: Phoenix | I'm on the patch and I gained weight while living in San Diego, but it was only ~10 pounds. But I went from riding everyday to having no horses and a desk job, so there you go. Got my horse back and I feel fit again. |

| I went on the depo 10 years ago and never had any weight gain. Being a heavier set person i was super worried about it but my doctor said a lot of people gain weight due to lifestyle changes. Especially on something like the depo. Depo is convinient and usuallythe "go to" for those going off to college, starting a new job, etc etc so their exercise frequency changed. I started it when I was still in my prime basketball career, I cant blame my weight on BC.
