So I have not been on birth control for a little over a year now... Typically I had been on the pill, & then switched to try Nuva Ring. I liked it for about 8 months, & then suddenly couldn't get it to stay in anymore. So I switched back to the pill.

What is everyone's opinion on birth control methods? Positives, negatives, what kind do you like?

Also I just recently heard about Nexplanon. It's a soft, flexible birth control implant, implanted into the upper arm & is completely out of sight. It works for 3 years. I like the idea, but has anyone tried it? I only know of one person & she just recently started to use it.

This must be the thing to talk about today because I just created a threat asking this same exact question.

LOL, that's what made me think to post this. I didn't want to steal the other thread! I am pretty interested in the arm implant, but am freaked over all the horror stories I have been hearing lately.

I have the arm implant and love it! Just finished up my first three years and have an appointment to have it replaced tomorrow for a second three years.

It was super easy to have put in, took all of maybe 2-3 minutes. I love not having to think about it.

I did not have any negative side effects like weight again or mood swings, but I hear it's different for everyone.

Mirena IUD for me.  No complications and no monthly visitor.  That being said, a friend of mine at work didn't have the same luck with it and had to have hers removed due to her monthly visitor not leaving.
