I am just starting my search for a better fitting saddle for my mare. She requires a wider fit and I prefer a narrow twist.I like  saddle that lets you sit down and lets you have a good feel of the animal beneath you, any suggests on which brands to try out?

PSC they have a 7.5" gullet flat or twist tree, but  I think u can request a wider gullet.   they don't feel superwide to ride like some other wide trees.  the leather is super soft and you can get a high raise seat that will really make you feel secure and deep in the saddle.   I LOVE both of the PSCs I have owned.

PSC saddles are definitely on my list to try. I'm in WI and have yet to find someone that has one I could try.

I would contact Keri and see if she has a trial one she could send.  I think I heard someone on here say she has done that before.

Sounds like you need to try a Caldwell.

Jeff smith or a mike green triple creek (you must contact him, janelle, or madaline) to order them. These saddles are barrel saddles built on cutting horse trees and fit a variety of horse backs. Once you try one you won't go back.

Thank you for the suggestions so far. There is a tack shop I can try out Jeff smith saddles at, and I *might* be able to try out a Caldwell later this year. Have not heard about the Mike Green saddles yet, will have to do some digging.

I have the exact same situation as you, and my Caldwell is the best thing I've ever spent money on.
