Looking for a new camera to take pictures of the family, kids sporting and rodeo events, horses ..lol life. What do you suggest. Good quality, easy to use. Something that has a good lens, handy, not too big and can add more lens later.

Canon Rebel--whatever number they have now. Comes with a very nice lens. Easy to use.

I want to hear too.  I have the original canon rebel DSLR or whatever they are.  I lost our family Easter pics this year because the CF card corrupted.  That's the 3rd time that's happened with different cards and I lost pics that really upset me to lose.

Any of the Canon Rebel series are very easy to use and produce high quality images.

Nikon 1 J4 - super easy to use, great pictures and videos.  There are currently 3 lenses for it and is a nice intro. type camera.  This is what I started with in the digital cameras when moving from a 35 mm old school camera. They are also smaller in size.

Looking for a step up camera ... The Nikon D series camera's are a bit hardier than the suggested Cannon Rebels.  I also like the Nikon's feel in my hands, but that is just my preference.

Good Luck!

I have a Canon Rebel. I hadn't used it for a while and now I can't remember what settings I was using to get good pictures of taking pictures of the wild birds that are right outside my kitchen window. LOL

Love my nikon, it came with a nice lense but i bought a wider range lense, what a close up lense. Take really good pics, like a pro. Need to do some horse shows.

I don't think they use CF cards anymore. Think they are SD cards.

Yeah, but that's how old mine is. LOL I bought it used 10 years ago.  From what I've read, the SD cards are more reliable.
