I have 2 gelding, the 13 year old, loves to be brushed, have bridle path clipped, ears, & nose. Braid his mane & tail, loves it so much he will fall asleep, he really takes care of me, but he is my husband horse. Then my devil 8 year, hates to be brush, it's like brush me once & put the saddle on, don't think about clipping his bridle path, or braiding his mane or tail, freaks him out to hear the rubber bands makes noise, no bath for him. So I ride a dirty horse, & everyone comments how pretty my husband's horse is.

It sounds like you need to trade horses with your husband. LOL.

But my mare doesn't mind being pampered, she could take it or leave it. However, in some strange order of events, my mare runs a better pattern if I braid her tail...why, I don't know! My gelding loves to be brushed on and played with and messed with. I haven't tried braiding his mane or tail yet but he has such a thick mane I probably will when I start competing on him. But just judging on how he acts receiving attention, I don't think he'll mind. :)

Of the 5 I have 3 LOVE to be pampered.  I have to push them out after feeding sometimes because they won't leave till I scratch on them some.  In the summer afternoons I stall them under fans, if I am late my main guy will bang on the barn gate, he his torn the bottom rail off of 2 gates :( but  I love him- I call him "The Princess".

Mines only three, but since he was 9 months old and I gained his trust he absolutely loves it.

He leans into my scratches, and if I scratch his butt he'll back up a couple of steps and make a grunting noise. LOL When we work hard and I take his bridel off, he loooooves to have his sweaty areas scratch, ears cheek bone area, nose bridge and the itchy girth spot.

Mine tolerate it, but they don't love it. I do it anyway :) I'm pretty vain and love a well brushed horse.

My guy likes being pampered. Loves to be brushed, loves a stall in heat, cold, wind and rain, but really does not like baths. I, on the other hand, am a knock the mud off the neck and saddle area and ride kinda girl. He is getting his way though. The boys in my family swear I love him more than them. Some days I do, lol!

The whithers and pretty much anyplace behind the hips and all up and down the backside.. Places they have a hard time reaching themselves.. Especially the brood mares when they get heavy...

I'm not real sure if any of my horses love the attention but it is something they just gotta learn.  Had one of my 3 yr olds up and I started to trim his chin and he was so scared but by the time I was finished he was about to fall asleep.  It's just part of living at my house that you get used to all this and I am not even that fussy about grooming to a tee.  One of my mares does love the equine massager so there's that...

Mine all like it. They don't seem to care much either way but are very patient and will stand and let us brush on them for a while. It's good cause I want my horses to look good.

We have 4 geldings and a mare---she and the oldest gelding (36) I guess would stand by you forever as long as you rub and brush. He had a slight colic episode about a month or so ago and after a shot of Banamine and some walking I tied him up. I brushed and brushed him from his ears to his tail, top and bottom. I stopped every few minutes listening for gut sounds. Started hearing them and could tell he was relaxed and pain free. After an hour I stopped and turned him loose and watched. He stood right there looking at me like "we are not done here"!! I figured if he loved it so much then it could only help relax him and help with the bellyache. And it worked. Checked him at midnight and he was "cudding" hay and fine. (Not many teeth so he can't really eat hay.) My mare will side step up to you and nudge you to rub her belly. Then she will take her top lip and rub it against the barn wall or another horse or whatever she can reach. If nothing is close she will turn and rub my arm. Funniest thing ever. My boyfriend and I say she will sell herself for a belly rub!!

ETA I think I get as much out of it as they do---relaxes me and takes my mind off the stress of my life for those moments I'm with them.

Have a broodmare who loves to be pampered! She thrives on my attention. So does her 1/2 brother. Their dam? Umm no, noway no how. You can look at her and that's it. She hates brushes, scratches, people, cats, dogs, and I think herself most days. But she makes me pretty and fast babies so I keep her around.

I could pamper my gelding 24/7 and he'd love every minute of it .. my mare is a get in/get out type of girl...the only thing she would stand for all day long is to brush her tail...she's all business with little time for "fluff"...I used to take it personally before I figured out this is just her personality..we work great together, she is and has been my best teacher in all things horse so if she's not a lovey dovey type horse, that's ok. If I need to get a big dose of lovin on a horse, I'll grab the gelding

My colt is a big mushy attention lover. It doesn't matter what you do with him as long as you're paying him attention. He loves it all.

My crotchety old gelding I inherited from my 'no-nonsense' hubby. He would catch him. Brush his back off. Saddle him. Ride him. And throw him back in the pasture. Well here I come along with cookies and magnets and soft rides and braiding him mane and all sorts of stuff. He didn't like cookies 2 years ago. Now he nickers for them. He used to hate being caught. Now he comes willingly MOST of the time. He LOVES his 'squishy boots' and tolerates whatever else I do to him. He's a saint. Unless you tick him off and then he will most certainly find a soft spot to dump you. Lol
