| Just happened to watch the WPRA show on RFD. They interviewed Kristine Laughlin about her spill at the NFR when she fell off. She said as she walked out Fallon Taylor told her to shut her phone off and not read barrel horse world. Lol. I didn't know we had such a reputation! Lol |

Location: Austin, Texas, where it can get really weird!! | Anyone who would get down on someone for having an accident or fall, in my opinion has not been around horses enough to talk because its not if, its when. We all have had friends, or family members, or ourselves, that have been injured sometimes serously. Due to the nature of the sport, nature of the beast, and shear unpredictability of accidents many times no one is at fault its just an accident. |

Location: CO | The comment on WPRA tonight was funny when she said Fallon said that. I would like to try to clarify that that was Christy Loflin. She has an amazing mare that she rides, tons of talent and is very friendly and helpful. Last year at the NFR there was also Christine Laughlin. Also an amazing talent. Both lady's are from Colorado to add to the confusion. I respect both of them. |

I wouldn't think that it was said in a negative way. You've got to have a sense of humor about such things. Just like any other big thing that someone is participating in and the rest of the world is watching... don't get online, don't read reviews, etc... that stuff can mess with your head. I'll bet Fallon was laughing when she said it and I'll bet it lightened the mood a ton! |

Fallon was trying to protect me that night and was the very first person I saw. She hugged me then told me to stay off the internet because WE ALL know how brutal it can be:) |

I watched that and knew exactly what that felt like. I've been riding a mare since last summer who is built downhill and very front endy in her turns, especially the first. I have been thrown over her shoulder many times and have ben trying to heal ligament and muscle tears in my hip and butt since last September. I have shown a few people that run to try and show what it is like to ride my mare. I have said that the only reason that I have not eaten the dirt is because my legs are a lot longer then yours, giving me something to drop down on her sides (and so tearing up my hip) to help keep me from JUST doing what you did.
I "think" I have the problem mostly licked. Was riding her in too wide a saddle, then too small a seat. Now days her front end disappears in front of me but I can push myself erect. It's been a loooong learning curve.
If you didn't get hurt in the ejection maybe coming off was a better thing that what I have been doing to my gettingolderallthetime body!
Now, if I could just qualify for the NFR everybody could make fun of my larger self getting thrown all over the place sometimes. |

Movin is wicked atheltic!!! I'm impressed there wasnt a somersault with all the speed she had coming into that barrel! Fallon gave great advice. I love BHW but I've seen how nasty it can be! |

| Just a comment to lighten the mood after checking that someone that could have been seriously hurt was not.
I don't recall anyone bashing Christy for this fall. Everyone with some experience would know that a fall at those speeds and tight turns can happen to the best and the worst of us and everyone in between. If someone did do some bashing, that was just showing their ignorance and lack of equine experience. The comments I remember on BHW were just grateful that Christy and her mare were okay. |
