| I believe she has a gas bubble? Almost acts like she is in labor/pushing. She has passed some gas but is still miserable. Any home remedies that might help her until I can call vet? She has been like this for about 4 hrs now. She is old and the dog flu is going around really bad so I don't want to take her to vet unless absolute emergency. Just hoping I can make her comfortable until I talk to vet in the morning. She is very tired :(

Location: Arkansas | Don't know if the same principle applies but when my dog had an upset tummy (gurgling and rumbling) my vet said a tablespoon of Karo syrup.
ETA I agree with the ER vet idea. Prayers for her

| Temp is 97. gums around teeth look ok. Lips might be a little pale. She could be constpated. This morning her stool was loose but I haven't seen her go since then

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I'm sure not a vet. If she is under that much distress and she was mine I would be headed for an emergency clinic.
Good Luck and keep us posted.
I would hate to give ideas and it end up making her worse. |

Location: East of the Pecos | She could have a blockage between her stomach and intestine. An X-ray is needed to know for sure. If this is it, it's a dire emergency. |

If the dog's temp is 97 that is too low (Should be 100.5-101.5 something in that range). Straining to pass stool is also not good. Pup needs to head to the vet.

| Sorry I'm just now updating! This is the first time back on here. I did take her to the ER vet shortly after my first post. She did not make it She had an internal bleed from a tumor. Still don't understand the gas cramping/passing gas and acting like she was constipated. However, she never lets me take her temp so that was a sign she didn't feel well. When it was low twice (I was hoping first time was incorrect from her moving) and gums got pale (they weren't at first) I headed to ER. She had a great 16 yrs of life but I still wish she was here. It has been a hard couple of days. Thanks for everyone's input. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Awww I'm so sorry you lost her. You truly did all you could. At her age getting her there any sooner would not have made a difference. You did right by her no question. She had a great long life thanks to your care. We have a 14 year old that we love dearly...and I dread the day we lose him too. So we just keep him happy and enjoy each day we get.
