I may be moving to Seattle Wa in the near future, just curious what the barrel racing is like out there? Is it popular? Expensive? What is boarding like? Easy to find? Expensive?

I'm from Eastern Washington but they do run quite a bit on the west side of the mountain. They run at the fairgrounds in Monroe, and Rocky Top Arena in Salkum. But if you want to travel a few hours to Eastern Washington, Featherland Ranch in Naches puts on great races..and they usually put on a two day race at least once a month. As for boarding I'm not sure how expensive it is...hope this helps a little.

It depends on what area you move to. Seattle area is going to be expensive - for everything. There are quite few races north in the Arlington/Stanwood/Granite Falls area and also south like the other poster mentioned Rocky Top in Salkum has quite a few. Boarding on the west side is going to be expensive. Good luck!!
I would check out brn4d.com and look at their schedule. That will give you an idea of how far the races are from Seattle. I live 2 hours south of Seattle and have plenty of races within an hour of my house, but I think they're a little more scarce the further north you are.
Thanks everyone! We're undecided what location, depends where a job would be available for us. My boyfriends family lives out there around Lake Tapps so Pierce county or somewhere around that vicinity.
The closet Barrel races that I can think of in pierce county will be stewarts arena....
Holly puts the races on at stewarts arena she is a great person and does a wonderful job :-)
other then that you will be traveling about 2 to 3 hours to get to any races further south or east.....
the other races pasco, Walla Walla, Salkum, tri cities, naches (featherland) there is a lot in Eastern Washington that is where I would love to live!!!
If you can move further east or south that would help you :)
