Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | I have searched on here and am not finding a decent answer to my question. I am thinking about purchasing a treeless saddle. I am wanting something to help me feel more secure when going around the barrels. My mare really fires hard and pops me up to much for my comfort. So I was wanting to buy a treeless to try. 1) Which one gives that better sense of security, BM, TF or JBN? 2) How horrible are they for horses backs for everyday riding? I am riding in a newer crates that fits my horse just fine. So I could always switch back and forth between show days and everyday riding if I had to. I guess I just really don't know much about them and would love some information. And I can't buy anything until I can sell a couple saddles in my shed first. I'm really just wanting help to try and make an informed decision. Thanks in advance |

| If you dont have a very steady seat, I dont reccommend treeless. Just my opinion. The saddles are only as bad for a horse as your balance is. Not meaning to be offensive or anything just based on what you're saying thats my opinion. |

| Tammy Fishcher !!!!! I have rode in all of them my friend is a saddle dealer. The JBN doesn't make you feel as secure. Call my friend 931 261 5888 she has good prices and can tell you all you want to know about them. They don't make your horse sore I ride in them everyday and never had a issue. |

I completely appreciate the input and it takes a lot to leave me feeling offended. I don't have a bad seat, it's just my mare really comes out of the barrels super hard and it is popping me up and I don't feel comfortable with that. I've watched videos and it's really not terrible, I'm not tripodding by any means. But it is affecting my confidence because I know what coming on the back side of the barrel. That's why I am asking. Thanks :) |

| Since you know several of us with JBNs and Tammy Fishers, and even BMs I would seriously put each one on your horse and ride around. I felt completely trapped in the TF, and the horn poked me in the gut. I never rode a BM, but you know I love my JBN. Both the JBN and Tammy's have 5 inch cantles. |

If it helps, I have a Debra Sibley - not treeless per day but it has the high pommel and you can get high cantles. Might give you a secure feeling while still having a treed feeling. |

Location: Paradise , tx | Years ago I bought a BM for a mare that I had that was like yours, really hard to sit around turns because she fired so hard. It really helped me stay with her alot better I bought another BM years later to ride on my gelding that was really smooth riding, the saddle worked great but that saddle was little different from the first one, sat more like a regular saddle. Just recently bought a Tammi Fisher for another mare I have now, havent really got vary far on barrels with her but she seems a little rougher than my gelding ( more like my first mare) It does hold you in more, but I have never felt trapped in any of them, I just felt a little more secure. I know many say they feel trapped but I never have felted trapped in any of the 3 I have Of course, everyone likes something different, hopefully you could find one to try before you buy, You do have much more feel on your horse, with I really llike.

Location: In The Snow, AZ | I have a JBN. Love it for running. Very secure to me. Keeps me seated in my turns. My only complaint is I didn't get the wider version, and I probably should have. I now need to get a quality, thinner pad.... |

What makes them so different to ride than the Circle Y's? |

I have two Bob Marshalls and I will never sell them! I keep one in my trailer all the time, just in case I need ol' trusty!
TF is the only other treeless I have used and it's just not the same |

I have found that they just ride better to me. They are built better (IMO) and hold up better. I will also say that when Circle Y had their "Bob Marshall" and folks would tell me that their horse sored up in their BM, it was always a Circle Y, not an Original. |

| I haven't heard much good about the Circle Y Bob Marshalls. I haven't heard much bad about any of the other ones, beside preferences.
I forgot to say and I don't know if we've talked about it, but Nate has had less back issues since I switched to the JBN |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | I have had the original BM liked it but not for barrels...couldn't get up and over around the barrels, sold it. Years later I bought the JBN wide and loved it fit my running qtr get didn't have any slipping or rolling of the saddle like I had with several other treed saddles. I sold my mare and my JBN, but I would buy another JBN in a heart beat. |

Circle Y no longer has a "Bob Marshall" version. It is now either a Jackie or Tammy treeless.

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Thanks for all the replies. I am definitely gonna try out and see what fits and what works. I think I can get my hands on all 3 brands and really do a side by side comparison. I do appreciate the input. Thanks so much. It's been very informative. |

Location: North Dakota | My sister has the JBN and I've ridden in it some. It's definitely deep but I don't know that any treeless is more "supportive" since they are so flexible and not a fixed, stable base like a tree'd saddle. |

Location: Hill Country of TEXAS!! | I've ridden all but the JBNBob Marshall horn will come to you on a horse that leaves a barrel hard and you'll get way behind.Tammy treeless is great if you need a secure seat. It feel a lot like a Bob Marshall but the horn won't come back to you.Jackie- my absolute FAV!! It's lower in the back so it's not a trapped feeling. For whatever reason I'm able to get up over my horse when needed and 2 hand them in a turn if needed. I'm about to custom order a 2nd one soon for my other horses! The Tammy is also good when you have a broncy colt ;)Both Tammy and Jackie treeless saddles by circle y have a support in the seat so it doesn't fold like a Bob Marshall will. |
