| YES!!!! I LOVE pentosan!! I use it on a mare that broke her coffin bone through the joint at 5yrs old and my 1D guy that has SI issues. It completely changed the way they run. WAY more fire power in the arena and smooth during warm ups. My vet said since my horses are hauled so much that I need to redo every 2 months but whatever lol if it works, then im sticking to it! Love it!! |

Location: Desert Land | I love it, I call it my little miracle product. I usually start to see results after the 2nd or 3rd shot of the loading dose (1x a week for 4 weeks). Then I just do the once a month unless the horse seems like it needs more. |

This is where I have bought it from most of the time. They're reputable and the products are great. I have also bought their omeprazole paste and really like it. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | For those that use this, do you still inject? I have a mare that has been off for almost 2 years. I really need to get her hock x-rayed. She worked after injections 3 years ago and the first part of 2013 but then just would not run after that. I really want to try this but is it something you use along with injections to pro-long them? |

3 days. It is a blood thinner and my horse has allergies so if by chance he ever did bleed I don't want that to make it worse |

One open horse we have has allergies too and he has bled before....i'm scared of pentosan for these reasons...I've given it but i'm not crazy about constant use of it. I'd rather pay more for the piece of mind. |

Thanks. I was thinking 3 days as well. My horse is 19 & never bled before but I don't want to take any chances. |

Location: Texas | Just had my horse injected two weeks ago. I am thinking now would be a good time to start him on the Pentosan to hopefully maintain and extend the time before having to inject joints again. Is this logical thinking? |

AND one last question..hes about 1100 lbs...so how many CCs should he get? How often as a loading dose? And after how long should I decrease and to how many CCs? I need it in elementary school directions lol.

LOL I did too so I called them. I was told 6 cc's once a week for 4 weeks. And then you can go to once a month 6cc's. My gelding weighs around 1100 too. I am also giving to a pony that is 600-700# and he said to give 3cc's to him. And no prescription if ordered from http://horseprerace.com/index.php? |

Divide 50 by the amount you're giving in each dose. |

| Why do you guys prefer the Gold over the Platinum? I see where the Platinum has HA in it and the Gold didnt. Just trying to get educated! |

Ive given the platinum IV before but its a single use vial so you have to give a pretty large dose. I saw no difference in results between that and the gold so I just stick to gold. |

I give it to my 4 year old who has no known issues so its preventative. What I did with him is do the 7 dose loading of adequan and now he gets pentosan monthly.. Adequan and pentosan work differently but well together. I will continue the adequan load once a year with pentosan monthly. |

futurity trainers regularly give it before big shows....it will quicken one up bc they are not hurting, whether you can recognize them being sore or not if the horse gets out of the 4D and uses himself he is sore somewhere just like you get sore working out sometimes.
Aged open horses it can be the difference in .4 or winning the whole 1D.

Location: Texas | Since I just had my horse's stifles injected two weeks ago, do you think I would still need to do the loading dose of 1 dose/week for 4 weeks, or could I maybe just go monthly? Or do you think it is better to just start with the loading dose anyways. |

Pentosan works on the joints differently than directly injecting. I would go ahead and do the loading dose to get the medication into the system then monthly. |
