We are going to the track at Lonestar Park this year in Arlington.

| I have been formulating for TB horses since 2007 and I have had some of the best on my product's. Looking at Lucky, Shared Belief , California Chrome just to name a few and I have been formulating THE DAILY EDGE now for American Pharoe since he has been at the track as 2 year old and this horse is special. He should win this race running away. Also the same goes for Dortmund, he too has shown that he can compete with anyone and win. BUT like all great horses the gate and if the other trainers try to block American Phoroe and can't, he will win. Good luck for both horses and Bob Baffert for believing in THE

I really want to put Dortmund first because I LOVE a big red horse but American Pharaoh looks to have untapped speed.
It is going to be a true race. A lot of early speed. The time should be blazing. |

I actually didn't put them in any order, just how I remembered the names! LOL. But, I feel like if Dortmund gets a good break and a good post position, he could go wire to wire. I think American Pharaoh has it...if he doesn't draw #20, LOL. Carpe Diem just acts like he is supposed to be there and he's got this. The thing that will be interesting is almost all the good colts this year have early speed...either set the pace or are just off the pace. I think it is going to be a good race this year! I've watched videos of all of those colts run, and they are going to be tough to be...but it is a horse race and may the best horse win!
Luluwhit: Dortmund is named after a German soccer team, at least that is what I heard on the TV when they had the Santa Anita Derby on. :) |

They are both fast breaks (if they break clean), so it could be a regular horse race at the first, and hopefull last. I don't like American Pharaoh so far out, but if there was any horse that could make up ground, it would be him. I do believe it will be a true horse race this year! |

| Theses are my picks!....
El Kabeir (30-1)--Calvin Borel
Dortmund (3-1)--Martin Garcia
Firing Line (12-1)--Gary Stevens
These should be 1, 2, 3 and its gonna be a toss up on which one it is...I do not believe American Pharoah will have a dog in the race a horse has never won the Kentucky Derby from the far outside....he may have heart, speed, and breeding but I think the post is gonna get him.
I may be wrong....I have yet to pick a winner since early 90's! lol .... I am so a QH girl.

Umm, Big Brown won from post position 20 in 2008, but I do see that no starters from 17 post have won (which technically American Pharaoh will be starting from) but there has been winners from post 18. There is always a first for everything. If you go by statistics on post positions since 1975, Firing Line coming from post 10 should win, with Dortmund after that, and Danzig Moon after that. I'm still going to stick with Dortmund and Carpe Diem, and hopeful for American Pharaoh. Some horses can over come the odds. |

What a disrespect to the race horses, trainers, and owners of those running in earlier races today as well as the Derby. I don't want to learn how to make a $2k mint juliep either. Show me the horses. Show me the background stories on the jockeys, the horses, the trainers, and the owners. Go behind the scenes in the paddocks, interview grooms, or heck just show me what it takes to pull off an event of this magnitude. I certainly do not need to know who wore the wrong darn outfit there! I would love for them to show some of the local stables. Heck I would be happy if they went to show me where they make the Bourbon, but not Johnie and Tara or the other wasteful reports.
I would like to see info on the pony riders, their horses, the outriders, their horses, and the vets on call. Talk about their ambulatory services there. Please speak to people who know something about the horses. Asking celebrities their picks is a waste of time. Josh Groban is a great singer, but I don't care which horse gets his bet. LOL
Off my soapbox, I think.

Off my soapbox, I think.
They need to watch the 1995 telecast. I used to watch every year until the VHS tape broke. They were asking the jockeys to describe the Kentucky Derby in one word. Eddie Delahousse said HISTORY. Then a montage of past Derby wins was showed, the owners and jockeys reactions to winning. I miss Jim McKay. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | It was a good race and fun to watch. I seldom go with the favorite in the Derby so my personal picks ran 2nd and 3rd. Not too bad. I don't actually bet any money...just make my picks and watch. From here on out I root for the derby winner. I want to see a Triple Crown winner so badly.
The pre-derby coverage on the other channel actually showed some of the other races on the card. But when it came time to switch channels...We got to see all of that nonsense and just about none of the sort of things true horse racing fans want to see.
One 30 second clip on the fashion/hats by the two silly figure skaters would have been plenty. All their other nonsense was just exactly that. I actually felt embarrassed for them. What was that guy wearing? His pajamas and the table centerpiece from last night's dinner party? Apparently I do not know anything about fashion....and if I wanted to know I'd have been watching the Style channel or something. Seriously |
