This is a brag post because that happened to me yesterday and I am so EXCITED!

Some of you may know my horse Red and the lameness struggles we have over the past few years. He's finally felt really good this year for the first time. Been clocking in the 2D locally and the mid-3D at a large race, so far this year which is at least a 1/2 second faster than last year.

Yesterday, he just blew me away with a rockin' run that took 2nd in the 1D by just 0.011

He nailed every single barrel. I didn't even have to help him. I just made sure to sit deep and let him work. He did it all by himself. My jaw dropped when they announced my time. I knew he was capable of being a 1D horse but I just didn't know if I'd ever be able to get him there.

It was just a local jackpot with about 48 people entered for the first run. But in this arena, the fastest that I have personally heard someone run is a 14.1- something and we clocked a 14.314 so it was still a very good time regardless.

And of course, this was the day I forgot my video camera at home and didn't capture it on video. Oh well, I don't care. Just so happy!

Didn't do as well on our second run, clocking a 14.9- in the middle/bottom of the 2D because I didn't sit deep enough for the 1st (we got by it) and didn't push him deep enough on the 2nd (came in too tight). But I am just so danged happy with that first run. It just FELT so awesome I can't even describe it. Definately hope I can experience that more in the future! (If I can consisently ride him perfect like I'm supposed to.)

Just sharing!

Thanks guys! It's just such a surreal feeling. And when I try to describe my run to my non-horsey husband, all I can think of is like having this giant power house of 1,200 pounds underneath you!
