Is it worth the money to attend one of her clinics? I've never been to a clinic of any sort before, and saw she would be putting one on near me this summer. What are all of your thoughts on it? Thanks!

The more questions you ask & effort you put into it, the more she will help you.  I loved her clinic.  My only issue was I sure wish it would've been smaller group than 30 like maybe half.  I enjoyed her clinic but I really asked a lot of questions & made sure I worked really hard at everything she asked of us.

I loved her clinic! I wasn't a fan of her dentist, but Charmayne herself did a really good job. I agree ask lots of questions. My horse got an abcess when we were there and she was really good about explaining what to do and then still working with me even when my horse was starting to get a little off and I couldn't do some of the exercises she wanted of us.

ETA: I still feel I learned a lot from her clinic.

Also ETA: I hit a barrel on my first "run" at her clinic, where she watches how you ride and some mistakes you made, and I feel like hitting the barrel was the best thing ever! I learned so much from her with that.

I just attended one of her clinics about a month ago and it was very much worth the money, I would pay over and over to go again! But like stated above, it is what you put into it...ask a ton a questions, state your opions and even pull them aside for more one on one help. I saw some students who did not put alot of effort into it and they were not satisfied and did not improve. I also saw some girls stay till 9pm getting one on one work because they had a problem they were stuggling with and didn't have the fear to ask for more help.

One thing you will really learn is the health of your horse because she brings who whole care team with her to get every horse checked out. You can have work done (teeth, chiro, injections)  with her professionals if you want. That was some girls complaints because they would get thier teeth done throughout the day then have to get back on thier horse and expect them to work...however if you speak up and say you want a certain time such as after the day was over, they respect that, which is what I did so I didn't have to ride my horse right after his teeth got done.

I hope this helps :) I have been to 4 clinics now and so far she is my favorite, but you have to find what works for you and your horse.

What kind of injections? Joint? THat would be difficult to. If they get injected then you need to give few days off . How did that work?

I have never paid to go to one of her clinics nor will I ever. 1) they are huge, the one I saw had almost 40 riders 2) she uses a cookie cutter approach. Every horse and rider have to ride the same way every time, and in the real world we are not cookie cut outs and uniform in how we do things. If we were we'd all have one 9 world championships not just her. Or however many it is. Idk. And what I saw when she talked I was not impressed. But everyone takes something different away. BUT...I did learn by watching how some things could help me at home. Not everything, but little tid bits here and there. But this is just my personal opinion.

Her dentist had the local vet come for the sedation and so the local vet would palpate horses to see if they were sore and there were a few girls who got hock injections on Sunday after thier run.

Remember, that her $600 price doesn't include the dentist, vet or chiropractor. If you need any work done of those ends, you are spending $1,000 easy. I'm not sure that the money is worth it, lots of other girls have clinics for $400 or less and only take 15 riders. Charmayne usually has 35-40 girls. I personally like clincs that are smaller and they have the clinician ride the horse. I'm not sure if Charmayne does that anymore.

I LOVED her clinic. She has a 30 horse maximum. I learned so much, and cut a ton of time off. I just loved everything about her style. She doesn't have any tricks, any gimmicks. I've ridden a lot of reining horses, and her teaching has a lot to do with correct riding and solid learning about how a horse's hip works. I cannot say enough great things about my experience there.

I also had my horse's hocks injected there, after I was finished working on Sunday. Full scrub, same drugs, experienced veterinarian. Didn't see a problem with it, it was right on my schedule, saved me an extra trip back to the city to get them done.

This is the discussion from last time. :)

LOVED her clinic! I went about 4 years ago I think. I'd had some hard luck, was really discouraged and insecure and learned a lot. It was the boost to keep trying that I really needed. One thing I wasn't fond of was having the pressure to have dental work for my horse. I ended up opting out of it. Someone mentioned she has a bit of a cookie cutter approach and I have to agree. My horse HATED the drills we did BUT what she told ME to do, where to look, how to use my hands, when to sit, etc, did wonders for me and my horse. So it was a good experience for me personally. Like others said, ask lots of questions!
