Location: SE Louisiana | I was sleeping peacefully in my truck... and thunder woke me up... Well.... I sat up and looked out the windshield to the front... all broken clouds..... so I looked in the side mirror... and saw something I'd never seen down here before... A green sky!! Well.... coming from the Mid-West I knew what that was... With my truck already rocking and rolling I knew there was no place to run to get underground... So I rode it out...
I have to say... I have a friend down here.. Mr. Mike... He was born and raised a Nebraska farm boy but has lived here since the 60s... He told me today... yesterday was the first time he has seen a green sky down here.. in over 45 years!!! This pic was taken about 3 city blocks from me...

Location: Southeast Louisiana | Wow! I didn't realize they had a tornado go through. But, I was asleep during the day for the last few days and haven't seen the news much. I sure hope it didn't do too much damage. Glad you're ok. |

| So glad you're ok, Komet.
9 years ago on the 4th of July, we were camping at our favorite campground near the Berlin Reservoir in Deerfield, OH. Tornadoes are rare here, though they do happen.
I've never seen the sky look so strange before or since. The green hue is something I'll never forget. The tornado touched down about 1.5 miles from where we were in the campground. If it had not touched down in dense woods and been stopped by the lake, it could have made it to the campground. With the way it was travelling, it could have passed right through it.
Crazy, I'll never forget it.

Location: SE Louisiana | Well... I've only actually SEEN one...When I went to farrier school in Sperry OK. ....and I never saw the funnel.. It was a rain wrapped F5, so all we could see was the wall of rain to the north just before it hit Skiatook and continued on to trash Oologah and wipe out the school bus yard... |

So where can you live? lol. The only thing we have on a regular basis here in Louisiana is hurricanes and you know ahead of time that those are coming so they really aren't that bad. They can do a lot of damage but you have the chance to make sure your family is safe ahead of time and they are only during a certain few months. Other than the heat/humidity, it really isn't that bad here. |

I live in good old Flagstaff, AZ. I have lived here for 16 years. Experienced one tornado and one small earthquake in that time. That's about often enough for me. |
