I have a 5 yr old that I think is almost ready to add speed. How do y'all go about it and how do y'all know for sure when they feel ready? He's kind of lazy, so letting him pick his speed is not really going to get us anywhere LOL. Also, how do you help them find their run? He's off the track, but not super confident with himself and not hot at all. Just curious what all of y'all's experiences have been! Thank you in advance!
I like to add speed by "building ladders". I'll start by really asking them to pick it up running out from the third. One that is solid and they are confidently giving that on their own, I'll start running harder from 2nd to 3rd and then out and so on.
